Opt out #1, Zane Durant.
Many more to come.
I have said this over and over again...I don't blame these kids for opting out...They have multi million dollar contracts at stake here...To Jeopardize that for a meaningless bowl game would be out right stupid...All of these NFL worthy players who are preparing for combines and such for the 2026 NFL draft should all opt out and allow the young kids to get some valuable playing time and to set up their stock for the upcoming season and new coaching staff...I expect Dennis-Sutton, Allen, Singleton, some OLineman, One of the D Tackles and most of the secondary to opt out...This is a positive thing for the program in my opinion...This allows the staff to assess the new kids coming up and to see what kind of improvements they have made with the 20 days of extra practice they have got with the 1st team reps...I am excited to see the kids get some playing time and see what we have and what we may need to get for next season...It will be a great evaluation game...

Maybe some who are going to the portal will also opt out
@rip Better! They actually play in the winter game! lol OK, some of them play.
Every little bit helps, BT. Game experience is money in the bank for next year (or maybe the portal, lol).
Because I have no choice I have decided to spin this in my mind. IMO a NIL 'contract' should have something to do with playing...
So my mind spin is that this is as close as we will get to being able to evaluate who wants to be a PSU player and what they can do for 2026. Sure I'd like to win but this bowl game has more importance than prior 'Non-Playoff' bowl games based on our unusual situation. The bowl game gets he future PLAYERS extra practice time, shows their commitment, lets the coaches evaluate fit....the Blue White Game is a joke, it might as well be flag football. And then this year we played three practice games after he Blue White...
So I have convinced myself that I'd like to see the future play....
