It may be time to just get a 16 team playoff going and do away with the bowls. I’ll always watch Penn St if they’re playing regardless who sits out just to watch the team but I don’t know how many other people feel the same way. This is also what happens when you have a team loaded with NFL guys and finish freaking 7-5 this is mostly James Franklin fault!

I agree 100%. Non playoff games have evolved into scrimmages. A 16 team tournament would be outstanding! That equates to 15 meaningful games. What will drive this is ratings for the non tournament games will drop and money will be lost.
Interesting point about Franklin. Why do we have this many NFL level players and only finish 7-5?
Thank you for staying 4 years when you could have opted for the NFL last year. You were the bright spot in what was a truly disappointing past 2 years. The money would be there whether they played the game or not. I see it as more being safe and saving their body the punishment of a purely meaningless game.

I don't think the amount of money will change whether they play or not. Micah Parsons opted out of an entire year and still got paid.
