If big money donors are pushing the AD to promote TS as HC, imo, that right there tells you that the AD did not and does not have a viable contingency plan in place.

Time to move on.

At this stage of the sheet show, if we can't get Manny, Terry would be the best move!

The only thing I worry about with Terry is can he find the right players in the portal and can he draw in recruits like a “splash hire” could do. And is he willing to bring in better staff at certain position ‘s like a WR coach or OL coach or whatever need be.

thats my concern with Terry.

He can't, he is not a name and without the name you have to build a relationship, but his strength in that area does not work as quickly as 'reputation'.  That said, having in place OC's would help and position coaches I'm told do a lot of the recruiting/relationships.

Lets face it, in this new world losing a freshman recruiting class hurts but not like it did and not for 2-3 years.

At some point he is the best option and that point is approaching...with acceleration.

@underlion

I get that. I guess I just wanted that “splash hire” so we could stay above .500. I’m tired of coming so close or not even close year after year after year. Last NC was in 86, should have been one in 94, so it’s been a long time. At this rate we probably won’t see one for at least another 5 years. Too bad for that interception last year against ND.
