@roaminglion Right there’s no similarities in hiring a coach that’s been on a staff 5 years vs one that’s been on a staff for 15 years. Yes let’s see what a guy we’ve known for 15 years “can do” because in 6 games all the important questions will be answered like his ability to recruit, manage NIL, transfer portal, Coordinators, assistants, offensive and defensive schemes, dealing with the media/boosters etc. Do you really believe Kraft would go out of his way to fire Franklin just to hire a long term assistant coach? If Kraft himself wants a fast track to being fired I guess that’s logical.

So how is that different from hiring an up and coming coordinator, or an FCS coach? What establish big time coach are you going to go hire that you know all that?

I really think the question should be why do you believe it’s feasible to hire a long term assistant after a very public and expensive firing of a high profile coach who held the position for 12 years. Knowing that their will be immense national interest from current Head Coaches looking to step up in competition.

He is the main reason we recruit well in western PA.

Because an AD who lets public pressure dictate who he hires has no business being an AD. Who gives a flying F what anyone else thinks, he should hire who HE thinks is the best for the job. He shouldn't worry about his job, leaders lead... they don't make decisions because they are scared to get fired.
