Did you honestly think the "I Wish" had a fighting chance on Saturday?
You guys need to join a conference to avoid the end-of-the-season let down you're experiencing today.
Who knows, we PSU fans may be feeling the blues tomorrow evening but i doubt our boys will get the thrashing your boys received. 30-3??? How do you recover from a gut lunch like that??
Clemson is very good. ND is better than they looked but clearly Clemson had the better athletes. Although it is clear they should not have been in the playoff, the committee had to put them in. They played a competitive schedule and went undefeated.

Look up Sagarin's strength of schedule and get back to us. Notre Dame is nothing more than a paper champion and they proved that on Saturday. If Clemson loses to Bama in the ship, ND's SOS will drop even lower than their current ranking of #30. As of Today, Bama sits at #22, Clemson is #41, and Oklahoma's SOS is #8.
Happy New Year
They didn’t have to do anything, they chose ND because it’s ND not because they were one of the best 4 teams. They didn’t even pass the eye test something this scam committee like to use.
ND did NOT play a “competitive” schedule. Their schedule was weak. On paper it looked decent, in real life it was putrid. They stole a playoff spot. Period. They were given the benefit of the doubt because of money and their reputation from 40 plus years ago. They haven’t won a big bowl game since at least the 90’s. When is this ND hype bubble going to burst? They have been exposed time and time again.

Preach it LB!! I'm right with ya.
The Michigan game is what they hung their hats on. That win was why they were ranked #3.
Not really ND's fault though. They had some good games scheduled in Florida State, USC, VT, and Stanford this year but all of those teams were a lot worse than expected.
Had ND not played Michigan and gone undefeated playing cupcakes the scam committee would’ve still put them in. It is what it is brother.

Probably right.
LMAO...You'd think you'd have learned TO keep quiet by now....27-24 to a basketball school;-)
Ill address the rest of your ill informed posts when I have time..
Franklin is a poor game day coach, very poor, lol
Happy new Year..

#14 is #14... Basketball school or not.
Im a lot more impressed by your hunting posts Tsuga, than football, you got me there, but not on football Ill address some of your recent posts:
1) ND is not, WILL NOT, join a conference anytime soon..THis crowd was out in force saturday nite, making me laugh..The football program is flourishing as is the entire athletic dept with rest of their teams in ACC play. As to football, 2 12-0 seasons in last 7 years; three double digit win seasons in last 4 years.. Not too many programs can say that, is there 3-5? National TV contract, alive and well...ND's "other" network,ABC, placed three other games in prime time Saturday nite TV; CBS even Joined the party, and put Navy game in prime time..NDs AD reaffirmed independence in last yr, stating their independence status is a strong as ever, and probably stronger than ever..Stop wasting your time, not happening..
2) ND's schedule is very strong traditionally, has to be as NBC wants some high profile games, and the school needs some big wins, not being in conference..ND caught a break this yr with some teams being down, that's not their fault..but be that as it may, ND beat two 10 win teams, two 9 wins teams..Not too many, if any, did that..Is there any school in country that schedules three national powerhouses like UM, FSU, USC, Im not aware , once again..Not ND's fault FSU AND USC didnt have good yrs, but those schools are NOT bereft of talent..Sirius radio guys today, ESPNU84 on dial, were laughing at the 'join a conference" crowd..They asked why, to weaken the schedule as a conference would..They said most yrs, ND will not be undefeated with their schedule, and that peeking at next yr ND plays road games at Georgia, Michigan, Stanford..They couldn't imagine a conf team with that albatross.
3) ND had to play a perfect game to beat Clemson, certainly Clemson the better team..Clemson made hay when ND's All America CB, Julian love went out the entire 2nd quarter..As a great QB would, Lawrence torched his replacement for two TDS, and the third was result of ND attempting to help his replacement TL was 15 for 18, 3 TDS 247 yds with Love out; 12 for 19 with no TDS, 80 yds with Love in..No one throws at Love, he's first string on virtually every All America team..Throw in 4, yes 4, instant replay reversals of calls on field in ND's favor, and they had no chance..With love playing entire game, it be more like 17-3..You do recall OSU lost to Clemson 31-0 few yrs ago in playoffs, blowout happen....And I don't think its good for the sport but these two schools, Clemson and BAMA DOMINATE THE SPORT...I don't think that is healthy for the sport, but that is the reality, both being something like 54-4, ,55-3 or so
4) THis is exactly why Im more of a NFL fan, 35 years season ticket holder of the Phila Eagles, and prior, I was attending 1-2 games pe yr as far back as the 60s when the Birds played in Franklin Field.I still bask in the glow of EAGLES 41, Patriots 33.LAST TWO home games I attended, both ended with last minute winning FGS, 25-22 over NY; 32-30 vs Houston..That is what is great about NFL, one is a 5-11 team, the other 11-5...As Buddy Ryan once said, their are no Temples, nor East Carolinas in the NFL, nor Kent States for hat matter ..Beginning 430 Saturday, Ill be glued to set until 8PM or so sunday when the greatest 12 team post season in any sport begins..Im thrilled the Birds made it back to defend..
Happy New Year
Happy New Years CT. I agree with your post and until the conferences hold ND accountable for not playing in conference championship games you are correct and I said it in my post just in a different way. But you know what Ohio st and Alabama sit home watching conference championship games to and they get in the playoffs so what’s the difference in ND doing it? It’s a total joke but that’s not ND’s fault.
Happy new Year to you southern..You are correct, there is nothing to make ND want to join a conference..Now, if the CFP Committee would say from now on, we're picking only the top 4 conference champs, then the landscape changes, and ND has to react accordingly.. But unless something happens to make them change, its not happening ...
I saw you were somewhat critical of JF yesterday sending out the FG team, and I know generally you think highly of him..Being New Years , I was tied up with the family, but turned on the PSU-Kentucky game when it was 27-14..catching about last 7-8 minutes or so...McSorley was red hot, and on that last drive, I was sure Trace would take them in...I was flabberghasted when I saw the FG team..I saw somewhere, here or elsewhere, a poster said it be different if it was the NC game, or a semifinal, he'd have no problem with the decision, but it was the Citrus Bowl..I agree wholeheartedly with that assessment, and I swear, I could hear a huge sigh of relief over the TV , coming from that Kentucky sideline..I didn't understand it, especially with a QB that much in a groove, and known for comebacks.
I would’ve gone for the win right there because we had our starting DT and LBER out plus we were on the 15 yard line so if you don’t get the first you have them pinned back with more pressure not to make a mistake. Just my opinion though CT
