Yup they’re gone
Just because you enter the portal doesn't mean you will leave. We will see, certainly could be leveraging for more money in some cases..
If I was Grunks agent I'd certainly get him in the portal
I don't think Grunk is going to leave...I think he is just testing the waters to see what money he is offered...I fully expect Penn State to match his offer or give him a few bucks more to retain his services...I don't get the feeling that he wants out...I just think he is going to leverage his worth for his payday...I don't blame the kid for doing his due diligence...I don't think he leaves...Rojas is coming back and that is huge...
@roaminglion I don’t know exactly how all the portal stuff works but just as a fan looking in if a player gets in the portal most likely they’re gone. I have seen a few come back but not many.
I bet less than 5% don't leave. Entering the portal is an anti-team comment...bad optics. Over time it will not be perceived so negatively but my guess is that a MC culture, especially year one send a message culture, will not promote it. IMO, he is gone, 99 and 44/100's.
In the immortal words of Jim Carrey .... "So you're telling me there's a chance?"
A snowballs chance in hell.
I like to turn these things into math equations. QB's are just trying to maximize their equation.
N=NIL $
S= $ value of being the starter, this has some relationship to future value, going pro etc.
P= $ value of making the playoffs/winning.
T= $ value of remaining part of the old team (note that over 30 of our old team is leaving)
M= $ value of being close to mommie
E= $ value of education, OK forget this one, you can get an education anytime with the NIL$
Add them up and the team with the biggest number wins.
@underlion lol I was trying to figure out what/if the capital letters were an acronym. Thought you were going all Niccy on us. Speaking of the little devil, he's been quiet for a day or two, must be moving out of mom's basement?
