See Link Above, I won’t spoil things, but this was a very interesting and frankly unexpected watch. Figured it’d be all rainbows, lollipops and puppy dogs...but it wasn’t sugarcoated at all. Thought it was fair, though. We asked him to put the transfer WRs under the microscope and, well, he did.
This guy is a very good coach...I understand he is breaking down WR play and route running and everything he said is true and easily correctable...On the one play to #1 he criticized the route and rightfully so and I also understand he is critiquing the WR's in this film study but Allar missed the TE wide open on that play...I can't wait to see these guys film breakdown of the FIU game...
@the-funeral-director it’s like the OC doesn’t want the TE to get many touches on purpose because of what happened last year with the WR’s. Just take whatever is there. 85 is to damn good to not get his fair share of touches.
I agree with Homer...This team plays this way aganst Oregon or any of these top tier teams they are going to get beat...The offense has held this team back from taking the big step...The front 7 on this defense is elite...The secondary is my only concern with that unit...
The playbook is quite obviously 90% shut in both of these first games. IMO we are just working on timing and fundamentals before fully opening the book against Oregon.
Agreed about the book, Roam, but what concerns me is if we can't execute well on the 10% that's open, why would we think we'll do any better with the other 90%?
It takes a bit of time, every receiver is new. The timing is a bit off, but it looks a heck of a lot better than at any point last year.Agreed about the book, Roam, but what concerns me is if we can't execute well on the 10% that's open, why would we think we'll do any better with the other 90%?
I dunno about that. Allar looks the same to me. That's why I'm concerned. Hope for the best is all we can do, I guess!
