Sean Clifford was named backup to Jordan Love today.  Glad to see him succeed & once again prove the doubters wrong.

I have to admit, I doubted that Sean Clifford would get drafted. I thought he might get on a team via the free agent route. I am pleasantly surprised to see how well he is doing and hope for the best for him.

As Joni Mitchell sang, “Don't it always seem to go, you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.”

@rip  I was just thinking of how good Clifford could be had he had Mike Yurcich his whole college career? We know he’s good or he wouldn’t be in the NFL as the backup QB but imo Yurcich is the reason he’s playing in the NFL.

I believe you're right about Yurcich.  It seemed like he and Clifford really clicked together.

Sorry to see that Trace was waived by the Patriots.  I did see where they may bring him back as the practice squad QB.  I hope he can latch on with another team that could use him on their active roster.  Either way, I believe he's vested so he'll qualify for a decent pension.

Hopefully he can get on another team to get 5 years in. Does being on the practice squad count towards the pension? We discussed all that before but I forgot lol

I think it's 3 yrs now. Being on the practice squad is tricky.  Being on the practice squad does not count as a credited season unless you're activated for at least 3 regular season games.
