man wouldn’t it be nice to start the season off playing Clemson and ending the regular season with Georgia? That’s what the Jackets are facing with no QB lol. Let’s get Clemson or Georgia on the schedule how hard can it be to make a phone call?

Oh yeah! Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan and Pitt would be the perfect schedule lol but I’m sure whoever is making the schedules know what they’re doing because with what hit penn st it’s unbelievable where the football program is. I don’t know who deserves the credit but somebody did a great job handling everything. Going forward I wa t to see some big dawgs on the schedule though. Roam, do you think if the CFP committee picked conference champs in the playoffs maybe all the big boy teams would schedule much tougher games because if you lose to a team that’s not in your conference it won’t hurt as bad and it won’t affect you making the playoffs if you win your conference? Just thinking lol

Nope, because they've mostly picked conference champs anyway. Only times they didn't were:
1. Ohio State over us... OSU was 11-1 and played big dawg Oklahoma OOC, which we got pummeled by Michigan
2. Alabama over Ohio State... mainly because OSU was pummeled by Purdue
If they came out and said they will only take conference champs, then maybe... but even then you still have 5 conferences (and independents/group of 5) vying for 4 spots. One slip up and you get knocked out.
I think it was Bear Bryant that said (paraphrased) - I don't mind playing the Notre Dames, Penn States and Texas' of the world, but you gotta give me a few CW Posts and William & Mary's in between. I believe his point was that aside from the effect on the W-L record, playing a schedule full of big dawgs is just physically brutal.
Like Notre Dame or not, they do play a competitive schedule year end and year out. Correct me if I’m wrong but you don’t see the William and Mary’s, Buffalo, et all n their schedules.

No, but they play their share of cup cakes. For example, they do have New Mexico & Bowling Green coming up this year..

You're right Lake, year in and year out, ND plays a very competitive schedule..I purchased two pre season magazines, both point out the toughness of ND's schedule
Yes, I was surprised to see ND schedule Bowling Green, and New Mexico, but that is more than balanced out by road trips to Georgia, Michigan, ( you guys have been pasted more than once at the Big House to know what that is like) and Stanford Throw in perennial national power, USC at home, and Va Tech, (in many preseasons top 25), the schedule is more than formidable...Not too many teams can boast of three road games like that, its brutal..I think the scheduling of these two, was in line with Bear Bryant's quote above, you cant go to a power every week..
