I don’t know about y’all but I love this matchup. Yeah I’d rather the dirty birds be in but for not having my birds in the fight this is going to be a great game. This is the 2 best teams. It’s nice having Penn State guys playing in the SB again. I’m pulling for the Chiefs.
Absolutely Southern, can't wait for this Super Bowl. KC missed out of a Super Bowl last year because of a coin flip (I hate NFL OT rules), and I'm glad they made it this year.
I'm also pulling for the Chiefs, absolutely fantastic and loyal fans there and I'd love to see Andy Reid finally get a title. He's a great coach with one missing piece to a HOF career.
So much of this depends on game script. If KC gets out in front, I don't love Jimmy G trying to chase them down. Yet I could easily see SF getting a lead and controlling the clock with the run game, particularly against a run D that's been porous.
I just think the Niners have more talent all over the field – guys like Greenlaw, Ward, Armstead, Williams, etc., who the average fan doesn't know. In fact, if you look at PFF, they have 18 of the top 24 players playing in the Super Bowl. That depth matters. Their defense has shut down Aaron Rodgers TWICE – how many teams can say they've done it even once?
I know everybody's enamored with Mahomes and rightfully so. The Niners have struggled with mobile quarterbacks, which he certainly qualifies as (which isn't to say he can't destroy you from the pocket). I still give the edge to the Niners though. They're a complete football team.
