Losing 42-16 at home to Ohio State. This is exactly why people don't trust the AP poll or the Coaches poll anymore, they reject reality and on-field results in favor of the "eye test" and brand names. Michigan ranked ahead of Penn State? I know it doesn't really, but I'm just saying it shows why college football moved on from those polls.
The CFP rankings aren't perfect, but IMO they are better than those other two polls. They don't simply take off a box and move on, they get in a room and at least argue their opinions. Also, at least the committee is asked questions and has to justify the rankings rather than remaining anonymous.
I will admit I bought into the hype and thought Michigan had a chance to win this game. I was wrong. They didn't.

I guarantee you that some experts after this game will say that Michigan played well and completed, after saying all week that Penn State was never really in the game even though we entered the fourth quarter down by 4. LMAO
Muffed Punt has helped them more than 3 points. Disappointing how poorly the UM Michigan Defense is doing. I guess we didn't show them how to stop OSU 😎
Michigan offense is doing OK. Reality is that this 'rivalry' is declining and the B10 is going to have to help UM...but its not going to happen this year.
PSU has done better against OSU in recent history than UM.
Bunch of empty seats in the one corner of the stadium, big rivalry UM Fans!
Decent comeback has Michigan now down 15, will be interesting to see if they can cut it to one score game right here. If they can, they actually might have a chance.
Well... that's a big NOPE for the Michigan comeback. LOL
OSU back up by 22.
Michigan has spread the losses out, a loss early, mid and late.
Blown out at home, our loss to OSU away doesn't look so bad. We still have to be the second best B10 Team.
Getting tired of The MN Hype. Wisky needs to thump them, everything went their way against us.
Maybe next year Harbaugh.
According to Justin Fields, the game means more to Ohio State than Michigan. The real question is why does Ohio State continually attract the best football players?
Because they get away with more chit than anybody else does. If Ohio st needs a QB they let ‘em transfer in without sitting a year and if guys take money from people they call it a loan after they get caught lol. If these 2 dudes played for Indiana both players would be watching from the sidelines or at home and that’s just a fact. And just look at all the other crap that has went on lol. Espn still likes to talk Sandusky every time something comes up and they get the chance but you don’t hear nothing about Ohio st’s crap lol it’s a joke
@southernpsufan
100% agree. Also, money is definitely being funneled to players via the “money handshake.” There was a special on ESPN regarding 2 former disgruntled Auburn players that talked about the money handshake where cash was delivered and there would be no record of the transaction. (Wealthy alumni would shake a player’s hand and slip them a large amount of cash.) The former Auburn players indicated it was a very common occurrence within the SEC which likely explains why some of those schools continually maintain an elite level of performance.
I think it would be cool if players had their GPA posted, especially scholarship players.
And OSU is the SEC Team of the North.
Quit posting majors and GPA's when it became too embarrassing to the schools and the NCAA. Now they will promote the academic ability of 1-2 players per game to make us think they are still students. The NCAA has also reduced its public reporting over the years. I used to be able to find GSR for minority student athletes compared to the student population, a metric PSU excelled at. Try finding it now.
"We ain't come to play school."
Fits with our NCAA's Commissar quote "What is good for LSU Football is good for LSU"
As college football becomes less impacted by educational goals, and becomes more about money, many fans will turn away.
