The title of the article is "How does the fact that Penn State stinks impact how you feel about Saturday’s game?"  The link is below.

I don't think Penn State stinks; I think they are a very talented group of individuals who have severely underperformed.  Even so, they have four losses by a total of 14 points with 6 points of that spread coming in overtime against Oregon.

The boys need to develop an attitude of defiance, resilience, and determination.  Instead of wearing "IF" shirts, maybe they should wear "STFU" shirts.  Sometimes, coarseness and vulgarity are more appropriate than deep reflective contemplation.

How does the fact that Penn State stinks impact how you feel about Saturday’s game?

I don’t believe we stink either we have a good football team with dumbass coaches that can’t decide on what kind of QB they want and if roam is right about Jim Knowles defense taking 2 or 3 years to develop that’s even a bigger fudge up knowing we had to win this year. James Franklin let me down with what he let happen and watching him on espn he actually was shocked that he got fired so that tells me he didn’t think anything was wrong.

The sad truth is Penn State has a national championship caliber roster and a peewee coaching staff...Especially on the offensive side of the ball...These guys have managed to do less with more than any coaching staff in the country...

I think there is a point when a team can't even line up and play smash mouth football, even in today's game, that indicates something other than just coaching that is wrong. And to be clear, I totally agree that the coaching has sucked at various points, and JF is the common denominator when it came to fug coaching in the big time moment.

I listened to Hackenburg on a podcast and he was asked his thoughts and one of his replies was something like, it's the football player, they have no violent guys up front. Like him or not, I think he hit part of the problem right on the head.

Let's see what kind of effort we get against the Suckeyes.  I don't think we stink, but we have to show some grit & pride.

All I can tell you is back when I was playing this would be plastered all over the clubhouse...I am sure Ohio State ain't happy about something like this being in print...You always want to let a sleeping dog to keep sleeping...When somebody calls you out and says you stink as a ballplayer always brings out the best in you...If this team has any pride whatsoever they are going to come out inspired...I now expect to see the best game of the season by this group...Certainly going into Columbus and beating OSU would make their season at this point...I can tell you I would be all lathered up...

I don’t know what you guys have been watching that are claiming this team doesn’t stink. Yes we somehow kept the score close vs Oregon but for at least 90 percent of this season this team has played terribly. We are 7 games into the season and have yet to defeat a P4 team, our offense is one of the worst in the country and the defense can’t stop anyone. To say this team stinks is putting it mildly.

This team sucks and it has sucked from the first snap of the Nevada game.

Agreed. I think the defense was good, but something happened after the Oregon game. Whether it was Rojas or the team giving up... thry are obviously different.

The offense? Yeah we just can't figure out the passing game

This isn't a personnel issue but a coaching issue...You think the 3 WR's they brought in from the portal all of a sudden can't run and catch anymore? You think Allen can't run? You think those 3 above average TE's all of a sudden stink? The OLine all of a sudden can't block? This offensive coordinator is the worst one we have had in years...He was even worse than the last guy who was terrible...

@the-funeral-director  I agree about the players FD you’re correct  but I also believe Mike Yurcich was a good OC the offensive side of the ball was very young with a bunch of sophomores. IMO firing Yurcich and running lambert Smith off was a huge setback for the offense and we paid the price. Looking at it today Michigan and Ohio State won the NC and Yurcich got fired because we struggled against both teams.

Yurcich was terrible...This guy they got now is even worse which is saying something...These guys have no idea how to use formations and motion to create space and mismatches for their personnel...A peewee coach could defend what these guys are presenting...

My old coach used to say " if you need bulletin board motivation, maybe you shouldn't play football".

@the-funeral-director  or DA wasn’t a good fit for what they wanted to do on offense. Both coaches had the same problem. #9 and #44 wasn’t there to bale the offense out this year 2 very athletic athletes.

@the-funeral-director   I think your assessment has validity.  There have been multiple instances this year when a backup QB entered a game and the offense was productive.  Two prominent examples are Ryder Burton at UAB and Mason Heintschel at Pitt.  In his first start, Burton went 20 of 27 for 251 yards and three touchdowns against Memphis.  Last week, Heintschel threw for 423 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The difference between Penn State and the other schools seems to be coaching, development, and utilization rather than player talent.

The issues with this Penn State football team isn't talent or personnel...The coaching especially the offensive coordinator has been absolutely abysmal...He really should be arrested for larceny...That he is taking money for this is criminal...It's sad that I can sit in my chair and look at the formation and see what the motion is and know who is getting the ball and what the play is...Imagine how happy the defensive coordinator for the other team is...it's almost like he got the week off...It would take a half baked peewee coach a couple of nights watching this tape to create a defensive scheme...it's laughable unless you are a Penn State fan...Then it is sickening...
