Our BOT should be ashamed! Alabama's BOT just voted to name the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium "Saban Field" after ol' Nick. Didn't take them long to extend this well-deserved honor. Too bad we didn't have a former coach worthy of such an honor!
Maybe they're saving it for the highest bidder! Either that or they're waiting to name it for Jimmy after he retires, lol!!
As an Alabama fan, I don't like this at all. Hero worship amoung that fanbase is unhealthy. They take it too far.
IMO Nick Saban earned his name on that field regardless who you gotta move to get him on it. I agree with Roam about the worship part. What he did at Alabama is nothing but amazing.
Whether it's Nick or JoePa, I don't think it has anything to do with hero worship. Rather it's extending a fitting acknowledgement of a man for his outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the university.
