In a move I thinknwe all saw coming, due to knowing how unconcerned with records Barkley is... he will sit and finish 101 yards short of the rushing record.
I support whatever Barkley wants to do. If he played I’d support that as well. I gotta correct record here Saquon Barkley has earned on the field being the best RB to ever play at Penn State LJ becomes second best.
Why would it be what Barkley wants? I can see the administration consulting with him but there is an ultimate goal and management is responsible to obtain the goal. Luckily Barkley has the same goal but ultimately it shouldn't matter.
@underlion iMO if Barkley wanted to get the record the eagles would let him play. I have no insight it’s just my opinion. being a Falcons fan I don’t deserve an opinion underlion 😂
I'd put Ki-Jana Carter, John Cappeletti, and Curt Warner ahead of Larry Johnson.I support whatever Barkley wants to do. If he played I’d support that as well. I gotta correct record here Saquon Barkley has earned on the field being the best RB to ever play at Penn State LJ becomes second best.
We all know the quality of character Barkley possesses so it is no shock to his fans that he will sit this out but the irony is that the offensive line seems to be a bit upset about it as they want the record...The reports that I have seen all are saying the offensive line lobbied hard to go for the record...Any normal human being would be frothing at the mouth to set a record like that against the team that more or less let him go and more or less waived goodbye to him as he walked out the door...
@roaminglion I’d have Warner and Barkley as the top two. It was a shame that knee injury pretty much ruined Warners NFL career, I can remember Seahawks players predicting he would get over 2000 yards that year.
Speaking of Barkley after our game last night they were talking about NFL plays of the year and showed him hurdling a guy backwards. That was probably the most ridiculous play I’ve ever seen and even topped the time he was at PSU and hurdled the Iowa player.
LJ was at Penn St when we were below average at QB LJ didn’t have Todd Blackledge and Kerry Collins. Warner and Carter were bad ass RB’s that’s for sure.
Cappelleti won the Heisman and didn't have any great QB either.LJ was at Penn St when we were below average at QB LJ didn’t have Todd Blackledge and Kerry Collins. Warner and Carter were bad ass RB’s that’s for sure.
12-0 so I’d say the team was pretty dang good.
In 1973 that didn't mean a good QB, it meant a phenomenal RB. Capelletti had more rushing yards than PSU had passing yards 🤣12-0 so I’d say the team was pretty dang good.
Too young to understand Cappelletti. To me Carter was the best back but his body didn't hold up for the pros. All around team player/total package it is hard to beat Barkley.
@underlion K-Carter had a bad knee injury he was tough as they come. Some knee and ankle injuries never get back to a 100% to play RB in the NFL. I loved watching K-Carter run he was a beast. I just laugh at people what they say he was a bust. Usually when a RB goes in the first round they go to shit teams and we never see how good they could be. Had Blair Thomas got drafted by the Jimmy Johnson cowboys he would’ve kicked some @$$ in the NFL.
In a 7 year career he tore his knee ligament, tore a rotator cuff, had a broken wrist, and dislocated his kneecap.
