I came across this list below and even though I always knew PSU was not on the high end for salaries I gotta say I was very shocked at how uncompetitive they are. Not saying to be successful you need a big name coordinator (ex. Moorhead) or that said big name guarantees success. However one could argue someone with a proven record is a better bet.
Of note OSU has 5 asst coaches in the top 35 ($900,000 or more year) while Brent Pry is highest paid asst at PSU with $700,000 salary. **note Pry is only coach with a salary on this list but safe to assume he is highest paid**

Skewed data because this is Pry's contract as a first time D Coordinator. Since Franklin just got an extension, I believe part of his negotiations was more money for assistants. Case in point is Shoop was making $900,000 as D Coordinator here because he was also DC coming from Vandy. He had experience.
I would assume Pry's next contract will be in line with the experience he has now. And of course, Rahne was in the same boat.
