Good luck, Mark! As an ex-Swabbie I gotta go with Go Navy. I'm looking forward to today's game. Just wondering, I don't believe the transfer portal and NIL would come into play for these guys, would it?
NIL is a no go for service acadamies... but I read that people do use the portal to transfer out. Not sure how that works, but I guess they are granted a release or something. Maybe as long as you dont graduate from a service acadamy, your committment doesnt start? Not sure.Good luck, Mark! As an ex-Swabbie I gotta go with Go Navy. I'm looking forward to today's game. No one uses the portal to transfer in though. Academic standards are extremely high, plus the article said there are no transfer credits. Everyone starts from scratch no matter what.
@roaminglion do they redshirt at Army, Navy and Air Force? I heard they didn’t but I’m not sure. I also heard ND didn’t redshirt? Thanks
From what I know (could be wrong, so take it with a grain of salt) all students who attend Army, Navy, and Air Force have 4 years to complete their education. Therefore it's not even possible to redshirt if you stay there. Once your 4 years are done, you graduate.@roaminglion do they redshirt at Army, Navy and Air Force? If a kid didn't play year 1, and transfers out I'd imagine he would still have 4 years eligability though. Techincally "redshirts" arent granted by schools, it just means the NCAA views your playing time as minimal enough to not count that year.
Thus, Notre Dame nor any other school bestows redshirts or withholds them. If you didnt play, you redshirted.
@rip just for the football game, otherwise, we are One Team, One Fight. My career was unusual. There were 2 times when I was rated by a Navy O6 and one of those times, my senior rater was a Navy 08. I was even "awarded" a Navy Callsign that I proudly wore on my Army Flight Suit (when it was appropriate).
But the Navy punt returner should have been honest. The ball hit his foot. Integrity is important. Honor is important. He gave them away. That kid should be sent packing.
@rip Awesome shipmate! I was a Master at Arms Second Class
God Bless Army for showing the world that the Prevent Defense does not work.
Take Note James, the first question you should ask every potential future Defensive Coordinator before they sit down is their opinion of the Prevent Defense. If they say anything other than "the Prevent Defense does not work and I will never use it", they should be dismissed immediately. No "if", no "and", and no "but" .... simply say "thank you for your time" and send them out the door.
As a Defensive Coordinator, you put your players in a position to dominate. You don't willingly allow them to be bitches. The Penn State Defensive Coordinators before Manny allowed their players to be bitches and it didn't work. Don't be a bitch.
