I am going to offer some advice to Rocco...#1 you are new here and have done nothing yet...#2 Win some big games first before you start popping off about the former coach and why they didn't succeed...#3 Spend more time in the film room and practice field throwing to your receivers to get your timing down... #4 Keep your mouth shut because if you don't perform and win these big games people will remember this and it won't bode well for you...

I agree w/ your points FD. Maybe I didn't read his quote right. I didn't really see anything said that gives me heartburn. Pretty much said what everyone else has been grumbling about since the team collapsed during/after the Duck Debacle. What changed when Coach Smith took over?

Rocco needs to understand this ain't the swiss cheese defenses he has seen in the Big 12...They play defense in the B1G...He needs to keep his mouth shut and get to work...He has a lot to prove and hasn't done jack shit yet...This ain't a church social where everybody sits around singing kumbaya...All this togetherness and culture stuff all sounds good but this business is about wins and losses...lets see how all of this plays out against USC at home, Michigan on the road and a tough Washington team on the road...This team is going to be judged by one criteria...WINS...How many games did you win...If they don't win 11 to me this team and season is a failure...That is all I am going to say and I will keep my big mouth shut and reserve judgement until the end of the regular season...
One more thing to say on this...I am saying that 11 wins is what is expected...I didn't say I believe they will win 11 games...They could win as few as 8 but 11 is what I believe is acceptable to say you had a successful season with this schedule...Rocco has 3 "big" games this season...Lets see how he does...That is why I say he needs to keep his mouth shut about what went on last year or previous years under Franklin...Say what you want but he won 10 games a season and was at least in a position to blow it by losing the big games...This is going to be the most interesting season for me in a very long time...Now I have said my piece and am going to keep my big mouth shut going forward...
I'd rather a QB answer the question and speak to what he's hearing from his teammates, rather than duck the question. Who cares, it's not like he just started talking about Franklin. He was asked and answered the question.
He is being paid to win ballgames...He will be judged on that...He wins ballgames and especially the big ballgames all will be forgotten...He doesn't win those big ballgames this is going to bite him in the backside...I guess I am an old man but in my day you kept your mouth shut when you were new to a situation and kept any comments about yourself and what you are doing to prepare...I understand this is a different time...We will find out after the regular season how all of this ages...
That's what I've been saying, see what happens during the season. There'll be plenty of time to be Nit picking next off season.
