I agree Navy.  My original reaction was ...... "Oh, No......."!

Here is a copy of the email notification sent to students:

I will keep my response short... Investigate the allegations fully with total transparency .. Let the chips fall where they may... IF there was any crimes committed prosecute them fully and kick them off the team..  IF no crimes were committed make that front page news as well. . Remember at this point all we have are allegations ... This is a very sad situation to say the least... 

SARCASM ALERT.  I thought firing Joe solved all these kinds on things.  Is that not true?

I totally agree that full and open investigation needs to be done.  The problem is that if nothing is found (because nothing is there) the "cover up" will then take center stage. 

That's why if I am PSU I would INSIST on having a 3rd party involved in the investigation and that should take care of the "cover up" nonsense...

Even before any investigation, I think it's important for the athletic dept (Franklin?) to make a statement acknowledging the issue.  Totally ignoring what happened will allow speculation to fester.  In my opinion, it's ironic that this should hit the press right before the BW Game, isn't it?

Can we possibly lose the BW game because of this distraction?

No, but it's not the greatest recruiting tool for the prospects who will be attending.

Maybe he's being questioned. (Sarcasm)  Go to PL to see the jackals and hyenas dredging up Sandusky and 2011.  

In these days now, a simple hand on the shoulder can be deemed sexual assault, so this really needs investigated to determine if someone was just being ultra sensitive, or if a "real" crime occurred.

The reason I bring this up is ....  my generation and older hear the phrase "sexual assault" and assume rape.  The younger generation, well, I dunno what they think.  But the phrase still carries "bad weight" even if it wasn't anything bordering on a crime.

This stuff unfortunately goes on everywhere rather it’s true or not true.  I’m with the FD find out what happened and throw the book at ‘em if they are guilty and if somebody lied throw the book at them! 

Could be anything, might not even be a football player. Serves no good.to speculate at this point, all we know is a time period and location and that students were involved.

If something happened, I hope they punish whomever did it harshly.

It might shock you that sometimes a consensual act becomes non consensual over time, particularly if the relationship changes.
