This is a lost season...I don't expect anything different to be honest with ya...I think it is beyond obvious now that this is a coaching issue...I don't see a pathway for Franklin to keep his job buyout or no buyout...It will be interesting to see what happens moving forward...I am sure the negotiations are ongoing starting this evening and it is going to be interesting to see where the coaching search goes...You guys already know who I have on my wish list...LOL...

Lost as far as playoffs. Very disappointing. Now we get to see what players are coachable and have heart. Maybe we can beat OSU when it doesn't matter ;-(
I get that there is a coaching problem but penalties, dropped kicks, catching kicks in the end zone and thinking before running them out have been taught in PeeWee and Jr High and High School. If you are going to play stupid you better have considerable skills to make up for it. Or you ride the pine with your NIL.

You are going to see decommits left and right now...I don't blame the kids either as they know a coaching change is coming...This is all up to who they bring in to replace Franklin now...This coaching hire is really the whole ballgame and with this big money renovations going on they gotta nail this hire...Penn State is in a corner now...This is going to cost them big money to stay in this game...If not that new stadium is going to be an empty shell...
Our elite WR recruit for 2027 has already decomitted. Top 100 recruit Kahlil Taylor no longer committed to PSU. I won’t be surprised to see the 2026 QB from Calif go next and have no clue why he would even want to come here.
I thought the stadium was getting less seats just nice boxes for the big spenders? Hopefully we find someone that wants him and will pay a considerable portion to get him. Can't imagine anyone paying what he makes at PSU.

@the-funeral-director It’s gonna be a 4 year rebuild and it may even take longer if schools like USC, Meatchicken and MSU get themselves straightened out.
Seemed UCLA did a 4 minute rebuild.
I'm suspicious that dogs and football players recognize unauthentic people.
With the transfer portal you can fix problems quickly from what I see. Look at Indiana. Just get the right coach
@underlion I don’t think there will be much of a difference in stadium capacity when the rebuild is finished. Hopefully they’ve learned to utilize the concourse for seating like they are doing now.
Depending on who they bring in as the new coach this program may be better off day one then they are right now...They bring in the right guy that brings back the money people to the program look out...This coaching hire has to the right one...It's going to come down to who the new coach is and if he can sell himself and the program to the money people because right now they ain't investing...To make it worse you got well over a billion dollars being invested into a new stadium renovation along with facility renovations...As of now you got no enthusiasm whatsoever in the program...Their backs are in a corner now...This coaching hire is the most significant hire since O'Brien being hired during the sanctions...I will argue that it is even more important than that...I would open up the vault and do whatever it takes to get Cignetti in here but that is me...This coaching hire is going to be the most exciting thing about this program this season...
With NIL and being the 'beast of the east' (Big Market) and huge Alumni it seems we are a good destination for a coach?
I keep flip flopping on who would be my #1 target for head coach and right now it would be Will Stein. He’s young and would bring energy and enthusiasm to a program that desperately needs it. And he knows how to develop a QB too.
Do coaches call our AD and ask 'hey, how's it going?'

@psujoe In their last two starts, Will Stein's offense has produced 17 and 14 points in regulation. Against a tough, disciplined, aggressive Hoosier defense they were outgained in the fourth quarter 104-15. They suffered six sacks and eight tackles for loss altogether.
Manny Diaz might be a guy Penn St looks at. He’s got Duke playing good football and him coming back might keep dudes from jumping ship. I’d take him in a minute. He also knows the program pretty good and he was loved while he was here for 2 years. Just saying 😂

I have to believe his agent has atleast spoken to Virginia Tech and Arkansas. Both teams fit Franklins specialty in team building not national level competition. JF won 9 games at Vandy, Arkansas would kill to win 9 games again. Virginia Tech just wants to be relevant again plus James has recruited the hell out of Virginia. The plane is in a nose dive right now, he has to start thinking about his brand and preservation of his reputation. Penn State may not get a P4 win this season.
