If Pribula comes out he’s a UDFA that will be converted to a WR. Maybe that’s best case scenario. What did mizzou pay him a million? Allar got 3Ms this year, Adidas pumping money into state college NIL. The kid didn’t want to leave but he chased an opportunity. There’s definitely a path for him to come back, Smolik and Grunk aren’t the end all be alls, we’ve already seen how Franklin system QBs develop. Maybe he doesn’t come back but there’s a path and there’s funding to back it up. Either way JF can’t stay on this QB trajectory, he has to bring in competition from the portal.

@kularrow He is not going to bring someone from the portal to be the starter. That will be either Grunk or Smolik and whoever doesn’t win the starting job will most likely leave which would open up the possibility of shopping the portal for a backup. But then that would mean Kritza probably leaves too.

@psujoe I heard we have a great chance of picking up a 5* QB that was at the game last Saturday.

@roaminglion you gotta try but we do need to recruit QB’s that fit our offense I told y’all that when we recruited DA. Hopefully the kid for the 2027 class fits what we want to do.

There’s no way a 5 star QB recruit from Louisiana commits to PSU and even if he does it won’t last till signing day. That rumor should fizzle out by thanksgiving

So we’re recruiting QB’s that really don’t fit our offense and blame the OL when it doesn’t work? Lol I’m joking but I’m not joking lol

this is what I said in 2022

QBs are going to take less money somewhere else rsther than play for someone who has shown zero ability to develop QBs

Klubnik, Manning, Nuss and Allar, all system QBs from High school, all supposed to be top draft picks, Heisman finalists etc. They’re all underperforming per those expectations now enter portal QBs Beck, Mendoza, Moore and Mateer. I’m not saying give up on recruiting but at some point it’s got to more advantageous to poach a P4 QB from a smaller school that has real talent and potential than it is to try to track down a teenager and get them to sign.

@kularrow imo Georgia and Penn St recruited 2 good QB’s and both teams let the wrong QB walk. Beck was an ok runner but more of a pocket QB but that’s the kind of QB’s Georgia always has and Beck also won a NC so I don’t understand crying Kirby on that while Penn Sthas done better with very athletic QB’s and we let the athletic QB walk that had 2 years of eligibility left. Beck had proven on the field he was the man while DA hasn’t proven anything except he can beat Rutgers and teams like ‘em which imo our defense was good enough to beat these teams like Rutgers regardless who the QB is. Both crying Kirby and James Franklin fudged up and both teams are paying the price because both teams stink on offense. I said it 4 years ago when we recruited DA stop recruiting QB’s that don’t fit what we need to do on offense it’s like recruiting a TE to play OT.

The QB the PSU needs is nothing more than a backyard athlete that can think fast, run fast enough, and be able to accurately throw primarily 10-30 yard passes; and has a proven win record in HS.

@roaminglion  McSorely and Clifford breaks all the QB records at Penn St and you say they’re disappointing? I’d pick another battle to fight but that’s just me.

Chad throws a pretty good 50-60yard bomb on the fly, lol.
