While watching some highlights, it appears to me, the big difference with these two teams and opponents is not just the physical play of both lines, but the closing speed of the defense in all positions; that IMO is the gamechanger. Sometimes that appears to be very subtle but damn what a difference it makes on run yardage from scrimmage or after pass.
I was hoping that Cincinnati or Michigan be in it to say the least. It gets stagnant to keep seeing the same teams surfacing in the NC. Georgia, Alabama, Clemson.
@forum-titan I agree and it’s up to James Franklin and other coaches to do something about it

All I can say is recruit better and get better.
Yeah I'd like to see some new blood or at least a 16 game tournament.
In regards to Clemson, IMO, they are done with their run and will go back to ~3 loss/year team.
I think a 16 game tournament could get exciting in having a team like a Clemson, T A&M, LSU, USC, PSU ect.. come in with 2-3 losses (due to injuries, blown calls, BS day loss) and possibly shake things up.
IMO, the NIL, portal, Juniors jumping into the draft and opt outs, is gonna shake things up considerably and could actually make the top 3-5 even stronger or its gonna dilute that advantage and spread the wealth; only time will tell.
The transfer portal almost feels like middle school recess ball; captains picking their team and players saying, hey man, pick me. Even at that level there is always the top 1-3 players wanted and the rest just average, filling a spot, or simply the last kid chosen because you had too.
I feel these teams will continue to get the best players until the format expands. Recruits aren't stupid, they go where they have the best chance to play for championships. If the playoffs expanded, recruits would feel that many teams have a chance.
