Maryland is going to be a dangerous game. Their hate for PSU goes back to when Joe was coaching and even trying to keep the score close the Nittany Lions still won by more than 50 points. The 2019 Penn State team has yet to look impressive. Penn State should win but we shouldn’t have had to come from behind to beat Buffalo and we should have blown out Pittsburgh.  

Unless the coaches can whip up some magic, the contest against the Terrapins is going to be a nail biter.

I couldn't agree more Sky...i hope we are all laughing and yucking it up Saturday night after a big win but I am concerned and if they don't get the issues with the offense fixed Maryland is gonna beat em...

1. It's on Friday not Saturday, no big deal just a friendly reminder.
2. Maryland wouldn't be a big win, just another win. This is a game we should win.
3. Of course if we play bad we could lose, the hope is we will get better during the bye week and fix some issues.

Look, I don't think anyone is saying Maryland will be a cakewalk, but some of us are just saying that all things even... we're a better team than Maryland, we have a much higher ceiling. Of course we all know that the only thing that matters is how you play during those 60 minutes, so it's certainly possible that we don't play well and Maryland knocks us off. 

It could happen, that doesn't mean it's likely to happen. I think we're all pretty much on the same page of where the team is at, and what our issues are. They main difference seems to be on how big we feel those issues are and how long they will take to get fixed (or if they will get fixed).

I think the OLine issues are really big...Thanks for the reminder about the night the game is played and I don't know if these coaches can and will fix them as it's been the same crap for a few years now...I am concerned...

This is sad!!!  Concerns about Maryland!  How in the world are they going to win a Big 10 game this year if they can't get by Maryland???? They lose next Friday night then this coaching staff needs to pick a new career....coaching at Penn State is not an option IMO! I forgave them for the Temple and Maryland losses (already under their belts), but no more will be overlooked! They should be sitting 3-0 with all three of their games being well over before halftime....not down on one and tied on another.  This is a good Penn State team, they have plenty of talent, plenty of play makers and there is NO reason they can't compete with Michigan or Ohio State....those teams are FAR from great! 

If we have to worry about Maryland, then we need to worry more about were this coaching staff is heading! Because it is not a talent thing, it is a play calling and teaching thing!

Agreed.  The potential is there, but as an astute coach once said "Great potential can get you fired".  This staff should take those words to heart, LOL.

.....just saying, we get licked by Turtles and then there is a major issue within the front office and something has to give! Ain't no reason for this team not to be 5-0 heading to Iowa.

Yes sir I agree and I think we will be 5-0. The team will get better. The Pitt game wasn’t as close as the score IMO we’re just struggling on offense a little which we all knew we would early and it’s still early so let’s give it another 2 or 3 games then we’ll get a better feel where we’re at. It took  the 5th game against Maryland in 2016 before we started clicking and when we started clicking you seen what happened.

Yep, Mcsorely's first year the Lions were 2-2 after the first 4 games which include a scare against Temple, loss to Pitt and a blow out at Michigan.....then all heck broke loose and we know the rest of the story! AND, JAMES WAS THE COACH!!! Although, I think the talent was a little better in 2016 vs 2019 but what do I know.  You can do a lot in two weeks, so I am hoping Franklin surprises us all.  I actually like the staff we have, I just get sideways when they make calls that even I know were stupid! And I am far from the sharpest tool in the shed. 

I am going with Franklin is easing these young players into the Big10 schedule and next Friday night he unleashes on the Turtles. I truly believe there is not one team on the schedule that Penn State can't hang with.  Ohio State? On the road will be a tough one, but that is not until November.  Win the next two, beat Iowa on the road and THEN I think we may have something special going on in Happy Valley!!
