While I heavily hope I am wrong ….again, I see 10 - 2 again ….OSU AND OU. This team has what should be enough. However the QB reminds me of another who had flashes of brilliance and then incredulous misses. I do not see success there. PSU to me has never been able to develop QB’s. I’ve watched them for over 60 years. I think this year will be a replay of last year. What exactly will that say? While a great recruiter …the rest …?..??? The CFP for sure but how far?
We'll find out what the kid has in a couple of weeks Pipe...I am predicting a Penn State win by 2 scores against Oregon at home in the white out...Penn State should have beat em last year and they had a much better team last year...I honestly believe we should beat Ohio State this year as well...NO excuses this year...They have all the pieces in place...We will see how it goes Pipe...I owe you a steak and some cracklin corona's so let me know when I need to head in to Aristes so we can go enjoy the steaks, beers and fine cigars...
@the-funeral-director I base my predictions on what I’ve seen in the current season and so far this season I’ve seen nothing that makes me think we’re worthy of the #2 ranking or even a top 15 ranking.
I’d love to hear what you’ve seen so far this season that makes you think we’re so great without referencing anything that happened last year or the year before.
@psujoe defense and ST’s are playing lights out this year but imo the offense ain’t as good as last year. It’s still early but I honestly don’t believe we’re holding back anything. We’ll see in 2 weeks.
@southern-psu-fan I don’t believe we’re holding anything back either but as you said we’ll see in two weeks. Defense has been good but is mostly untested because of the pathetic schedule and ST have been excellent.

I am referencing what I know...I know Oregon lost about 15 players to the NFL draft including one of the top veteran QB's in college football last year..I know we return a good chunk of the team that made to the CFP semi's last season along with bringing in 3 very good portal receivers...You can make the argument about this high powered Oregon Offense and I will make my argument about this elite defense that Penn State has...Penn State has more returning top talent on their roster than any team in the country...We are going to find out if I am right or not in a couple weeks...I am going to put it to you this way...With what they have right now they should win the National Championship...If they don't win the conference and the National Championship folks need to be fired...To me the weakest link on this football team is their 5 star Senior QB so that is how good I think this team is...I can tell ya this right now...Oregon ain't gonna be running up and down the field against this outfit...They ain't Oklahoma State or Northwestern in 2 weeks...They are going to be playing in an environment like they have never witnessed before...I don't think they score 21 points...The question is what can Allar do? This team will go as far as he takes them...I have watched a lot of college football this season and Penn State in my mind is the most complete team in the country...They really shouldn't lose a game this year...

The ESPN polls are a joke...sEcSPN does the same nonsense every year...Notre Dame is 0-2 and A&M beats them and all of a sudden they belong in the top 5...Seriously...Again people...Look at these teams...Notre Dame is starting a freshman QB...I guess the Arch Manning nonsense has been put to bed now...They did the same nonsense with LSU...Who have they beaten? Clemson is 1-2...They beat a Florida team that lost to SFU who got spanked by Miami...You act like Penn State barely is squeeking out wins? They have outscored their opponents 132-17...The defense gave up 6 points in the last 2 games...These rankings are a joke and have been for the last 20 years...They play the same game every year like the guy who wrote that fantastic piece this summer...They rank 14 SEC teams in the top 25 and then yodel that the SOS should be the most important thing when determining the CFP...They rig the system and the system has been rigged for 20 years...
@the-funeral-director you’re basing your opinion on last year and I base mine on what I’ve seen this year. I don’t see us as having the offense to hang with Oregon and won’t be surprised if our defense is gassed by the end of the third quarter. They have a good defense too and the main difference between us and them is offense.

Oregon's QB isn't as good as Gabriel...Gabriel I believe was a 6th year Senior last year...They lost I believe 17 starters from last years team...Many of them at key positions...They from a personnel standpoint don't have as good of a team as Penn State does...Penn State is the most complete team in college football...They also have depth...I watched 2 Oregon games this year...They are a very good football team...I think Penn State is a great football team...They should win this game by 2 scores in 2 weeks...If Penn State loses that football game big changes need to be made...This season is conference champion and national champion or bust...No excuses...
