It should be an exciting year for our beloved Penn State Nittany Lions. New QBS, New RBs, an adjusted offensive scheme, a defense that should be game-changing and an opportunity to shock the BIG Ten.
I feel really good about this team. I just have this feeling that this season is going to be similar to 2016 where we sneak up on the division and conference and ultimately end up winning it.
Sean Clifford will be the biggest driving force behind this seasons resurgence. A QB who is known for his accuracy as much as arm strength and somebody who is a fierce competitor and a leader. In my opinion, his talents and size will open up a ton of new opportunities for the passing game. The middle of the field, which was was often underutilized because of Trace's height will once again be wide open. When Trace was able to get his passes by the arms of defenders, over the middle of the field, good things happened. Remember Hamler against Ohio State? Clifford should be able to get the ball downfield with much more consistency to keep the defense from pressuring the box as well which will open up the short passing and running games.
The other factor is a defense that has something to prove. Feeding off the stinging memory of missed opportunities over the last two years they are eager to make sure it doesn't happen again. A great mix of veteran talent and youth should propel this to be one of the best defensive units in a very long time.
Buckle up my friends, This is going to be a season to remember!
I am going with Penn State winning the Big Ten Championship and the win total for the season being 13+.
10-2 regular season and we win the B1G ship game but get tripped up in the first round of the playoffs for an 11-3 total year record.......that's coming from my heart.
My head says 9-3 regular season, no ship game, and we win our bowl game for a total of 10 wins.
I see 1 regular season loss, a league championship, no NC playoff invite, but a major bowl win.

if we win the Big Ten, and our only loss is not a blowout we will make the playoff.
the only reason Ohio State got left out two years in a row is blowout losses. Same thing happened to us in 2016, even with two losses if we hadn't been blown out by Michigan we probably would have gotten in.
Ain’t no conspiracy theory here I’m going on by how we’ve been done the last 50 years. On espn they’re still putting Sandusky article on every time they get the chance. Notice what went on at Ohio st and Michigan State is getting swept under the rug not a peep from the ncaa or the big 10. Has either team got a fine or a scholarship taken away? 2 years straight Ohio st starts the season with a scandal going on. Disgusting scandals
Bumping this thread to show that a few of us did think PSU was going to have a 1-2 loss season.
LOL that is funny...
2 people with 14 wins
2 people with 12 wins
I love the positive attitude, I'm guessing that Southern was one of the people voted for 14 wins...
I said 10-2. I thought we would lose to Michigan and beat Ohio st and I thought we would blow a game. I almost got it right lol
I stated I had 2 thoughts: 11-1 if I went with my heart, 10-2 if with my brain... In the end I think I went with my heart and said 11-1, damn Gophers.

I went with 10-2 since we had an inexperienced QB taking over and an OL I thought was suspect...

I would have gotten away with it if not for those gophers!
