When will we find out if we can get a QB through the transfer portal? Is it after singing day or just when kids decide to leave a team for whatever reason? It would be sweet to get a good QB lord knows we’ve lost our fair share of good players in the portal. We’ve lost way more than we’ve gained anyway.

Actually, there is some recruiting news. PSU is pursuing a former Auburn CB commit from FL. He decided to postpone his signing after Malzhan was fired. Apparently, PSU is pushing pretty hard for him.
I would be shocked if PSU got a QB in the transfer portal, although I would be ok with it. It just doesn’t seem like Franklin’s style. Time will tell. Maybe I’m wrong. As far as the transfers out of PSU, have any of those players made an impact anywhere else? Not really. Juwan Johnson had a decent season at Oregon last year but not a great leap of production. Same with Justin Shorter at Florida. Decent season. Not great.

Franklin is rumored to be after Texas true freshman QB Ja'Quinden Jackson who is in the portal
Also there's talk that Taisun Phommachanh may enter the portal and speculation that PSU will be after him since they and Ciarrocca recruited him hard when he was in H.S.

I'd be shocked too but it's encouraging that he is showing some love to a few.
I don’t care who’s feelings get hurt we need a QB, what we have is good backups. I know they try their best but it just ain’t good enough to be starting at Penn State unless we have a great running game. Maybe next year if the running game is better the QB’s we have now will work but I don’t want to take that chance.
Brian Dohn of 24/7 put in a prediction for 4 star NJ DT George Rooks to PSU. I’ll believe it when I see it based in his high school coach’s shenanigans in the past, but it would be a good catch for Franklin at a position of need if it happens.
Agree on the QB transfer sentiments. If they get a highly skilled QB in the portal it would be an opportunity to instantly improve the team. Maybe go after a LB too?
