But seriously, if I were able to speak in the locker room, my words to the student-athletes and coaching staff of Penn State would be unkind. You don't give up 400 yards of rushing and you don't only get 18 minutes on offense.
Losing 16-14 at halftime so the defense was hanging in there until they just wore slap out. Defense does need to get better but if you can’t move the chains and score you will kill your defense. Our defense had to play the Michigan offense and ours. 18 minutes of offense will kill any defense. We’ll beat Minnesota Roam.

We can tap dance around this all we want, but the simple fact is our offensive line Is is bad and has been bad for a while. Southern, I don't wanna hear it. Simple fact is we always get pushed around by physical teams.
Morehead's RPO style was able to coach around poor offensive line play, But it always came back to bite us against the physical defense. We were just like Oregon, great until they had to play someone tough And then the RPO couldn't save them.
I'm so sick of sugar coating this nonsense by pointing to seasons where we should have won big games yet always found ways to lose them. Oh wow, we won 10 games in 2017 and 2019? Yeah, all those look like now are complete failures of stepping up when it mattered. Big game after big game after big game...
2-14 now or something like that? Enough with blaming someone else, I'm so sick of hearing about this offensive coordinator, this defensive coordinator, this guy, that guy... Nothing's gonna change until Franklin is gone, It's obvious he has no clue how to coach kids up for big games. He simply recruits well and tries to ride the talent to wins.
Quite simply, looking back at it I've never seen a kid progress and get better under this regime. They're either really good as a freshman and continue to be good, or just not good and don't get better.

More than anything, I'm just simply annoyed that we keep getting pushed around by physical teams. It is so frustrating, every time we come up against a physical team we get blown off the line. It's just pathetic at this point.
Even when you look back at when we were winning games in 2016 through 2019, It was with smoke and mirrors on the offensive line. An RPO scheme with a running quarterback that could keep people honest. Trace really made us a dangerous team during those years, and Clifford in the 1st year when he was running did too.
Anyone who's being honest knows it... when we had Trace and a healthy Clifford running the ball we were pretty good because we could compensate for bad Oline play... Trace held up, but Clifford didn't and it's gone downhill since.
It is so completely obvious that once our quarterback couldn't run consistently, everything else fell apart offensively. And that is quite obviously the offensive line. So we blame this OC or that OC, who were brought in knowing we had to stop running the QB so much.

@roaminglion I agree with most of what you say I just don’t think Franklin will get fired. I said when they give him the new contract it was a mistake. I was for giving him another year but no way did he deserve another big time contract.

@roaminglion true but USC and Oklahoma State played lesser competition. Michigan would’ve destroyed all them teams yesterday too. Not Alabama and Tennessee, the other 4 ranked teams. There’s a big drop off after Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, Michigan and Ohio st this year from what I see. We’re as good as the rest of ‘em. I’m not ready to throw in the towel yet being 5-1 a chance to get 11 wins

You spent the entire week knocking their schedule and stating they were overrated and we were going to win big. Now all of a sudden they’re one of the best teams in the country.
@psujoe their schedule has been below average but I had ‘em in my top 5. Sports change game to game but today I believe Michigan is a really good football team that’s got a great coach. I remember saying they look slow but maybe the teams they play are fast but I didn’t say they were overrated. If i thought they were overrated I wouldn’t have them in my top 5 where I’ve had ‘em all year. Michigan is exactly where I thought they would be, top 5

If TCU beat Oklahoma earlier this year you'd say it was a huge win, but now that they beat an undefeated Oklahoma state it's trash because hey, it's just Oklahoma state.

Simple fact is you don't know if Michigan would beat TCU, you just don't. Remember earlier this season when you thought Oklahoma would probably pound TCU, how did that go for you?
