An Ohio State offensive run by former Penn State guard Jamari Wheeler defeated Penn State 76-64 in the Bryce Jordan Center last night. Penn State started hot and led for the first 8 minutes. Then Ohio State pulled away and never looked back.
Wheeler had a season high 9 points to go with 9 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Penn State fans welcomed Jamari back with a smattering of boos during the first half whenever he handled the ball.
Penn State guard Jalen Pickett had 23 points for Penn State (4-4, 0-1), which dropped the Big Ten opener of first-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry.
Wing Seth Lundy added 13 points and five rebounds. Center John Harrar had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Jamari's reception back at State College was really a mixed on. Some boos when he handled the ball but also some fan signs in the arena saying things like "thanks for 4 years Jamari"....
