FWIW, local TV up this way are saying Colgate Coach Langel is the one to beat. But said news station also thinks Sillycuse has championship caliber teams, in every sport, every season.

@been-there-ii   Langel would be a good hire.  Coaches much like Shrewsbury.  However, if Adam Fisher were to be hired, perhaps Carey Booth would stay with Penn State?  Fisher recruited Booth....

@frodopsu I don't put a whole lot of credence in our local news. I think Fisher would be a fine choice too.

It should be Adam Fisher, full stop. PSU alum, lots of good experience as an assistant at Miami and now here, and every kid seems to be on his side. Why rock the boat when you don't have to? Give him the reigns and see what he does with it. If it's a dumpster fire (which I doubt) then make a splash hire in 3 years.

PSU never has been and never will be a basketball school. Even the administrators know this and that is why BJC was built to wrestling specs and is horrible for basketball.

Alabama isn't a basketball school either. Neither was San Diego State. Or Florida years back. But the right coach can lead to success.

You don't need to be a basketball school to be successful in it.

@roaminglion so then when they do have the right coach they need to make more of an effort to keep him. Kinda like they did with the wrestling coach.

Exactly... though correct me if I am wrong, but didnt we go after Cael and signed him away from Iowa State with a big contract? Or did he come here without a big contract and then we signed him to one? I don't know
