It was basically a bunch of guys and a ball and whoever was brave enough to pick up the ball and would have to run for their lives because they were fair game for everyone else to rough up. It was similar to football without rules and pads and instead of having teams it was everyone against the guy with the ball. If you didn’t get rid of the ball fast enough you usually ended up on the ground with everyone else on top of you.
Now that I think about it, it probably is a game only suited for northerners and is probably part of why we are so much tougher than you southerners!
