I just seen a picture of a dude that has the measles bad and I’m telling ya I wouldn’t want that shit it looks like it would itch like crazy. Ain’t these vaccines for the measles free? Smh

Go ask your boy Donald.  You love him so much. It's spreading like wildfire. I believe We are no longer a part of WHO, World health organization. Good luck with your vaccines...

I mean, this isn't hard to figure out... it's because more parents aren't vaccinating their kids, and it is down to a level where breakouts can happen.

I believe it is mainly because of the rhetoric about vaccines causing autism, which has convinced some to forgo vaccinating.

Yes, correct. I believe everyone had one with birth after 1962, well most people anyway. I believe there is also a booster shot available now.

Call your family physician,  check with your health insurance. Worse case scenario,  you end up with a copay.

It's been going on for a while. I think one of the biggest factors was declaring measles eliminated in the US back on 2000. Why bother getting a shot if you don't need to? Then the autism rumors took off. However, even in NY state where measles shots are required to enter school, there was an outbreak.

(Bloomberg) -- Thanks to the introduction of a vaccine in 1963, measles was considered eliminated in the US in 2000. Yet the highly contagious disease has reemerged as a threat as declining vaccination rates have fueled outbreaks around the country. In Texas, an unvaccinated child died on Feb. 26 in the first reported US death from the disease in a decade. Other clusters of cases have occurred in recent years, including a large outbreak in New York State in 2019.

Last I knew, you could still get the vaccine if you wanted it. Kind of looks like it was happening before the Trump resurgence, but nice try Suzie.

I'm not trying anything.  I absolutely agree with everything you said. The vaccine is highly effective at preventing infection from various strains. Not saying by any means one vaccine is a cure all if we would have a major outbreak.  We would not have any research and development under this administration.  JMO. I would also suggest not taking informatiom from Kennedy.

I'm not a biologist, medical doctor and I can't tell you what to do.  If you're that concerned about it I would make appointment with family physician and research your records.

"Go ask your boy Donald.  You love him so much. It's spreading like wildfire." Sure seems like you were intending to lay the blame at Trumps doorstep.

I had measles as a kid, so I got the Shingles vaccine, new and old. Had two family members that went through singles, not fun.

As Niccy say SPF, check w/ your family doc. Cleveland Clinic estimates 99% of people over 40 have had measles.

This all really started with a man named Dr. Wakefield in late 90s, who published a paper linking vaccines to autism. It was 10 kids, that's it. His paper was later retracted because his falsified his data. Of course, the myth that "big pharma" was hiding something was born.

Don Imus started pushing pseudoscience he didn't understand on his show, talking about themerisol and other stuff that was to blame for vaccines being bad. This helped to spread the misinformation.

Then people decided to trust a playboy model saying vaccines cause autism rather than actual scientists. Jenny McCarthy said vaccines caused her child to be autistic, yet later on she found out her kid wasn't even autistic and was misdiagnosed. "Whoops" 🤷‍♀️

This all made anti-vaxxing more prominent. When Trump took office it really wasn't a thing until COVID... then came conflicting messages among more conservatives (up to this point it was mostly liberals who were anti-vaxx), where Trump got the vaccine done... but also it was bad and you shouldn't get it.

This time around, it's RFK who is more stoming the anyi-vaxx stuff... yet the deaths in Texas due to measles last year seemed to tone down his rhetoric on that front.

Just my synopsis. Anti-vax comes from all sides, not just one side. IMO vaccines are safe and effective, and just about every argument against them I have heard is based in misinformation. Just my two cents

@roaminglion I’m an odds dude, I’ll take my chances with gettin vaccinated if the doctors say they’re safe. I get the flu shot every year too baby and I ain’t had the flu since 1993. Flu shots do kill a few patients every year but for the amount of people it saves is well worth the chance imo. When my doctor told me to stop taking the COVID shot I stopped. I listen to the doctors not truck drivers 😂

Not blaming him for the uptick in measles. Measles have been around a very long time. I don't have confidence in his ability to handle current situations such as measles or pandemis. He withdrew from WHO an organization that deals with Pandemics and large-scale outbreaks and WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme (WHE) that works with Member States to help prepare for large-scale outbreaks and pandemics. So basically if we were to have another pandemic like COVID we would be screwed.

I'm sorry but I don't trust him along with our Secretary of Health who thinks a worm ate part of his brain. It wasn't a worm as he claims, it was inflammation that did the damage.

So no, I'm not blaming Donald Trump for the measles to answer your question. Donald has another pandemic of his own at this time and it's not a disease. It's the accusations of leading or being involved in  a child sex trafficking ring, accusations as far as murder. He claims he broke ties with Epstein a long time ago and kicked him out, however recent FBI files claim he was in contact by email and made visits around 2015. If you want my honest opinion,  he's lying to the American people.  He destroyed the white house with his renovation and now he wants to renovate the kennedy center. A historic center he named after himself. He wants to name everything after himself if you have not taken notice. His honoring himself will soon come to an end when he's out of office and believe his renaming will be reversed. The United States was never meant to be a Kleptocracy for people like DJT. This country wasn't built for Kings like DJT. Believe me,  one way or another there will be a reckoning and it will most likely be done at the next election.  Again,  sorry, but TRUMP is a CULT. JMO

I would tell you that you should listen to scientists, like chemists and bioloists too. The have more expertise than doctors in this area.

Doctors aren't the ones who make the vaccine, or study it. They just administer them. Just saying their advice is very important, but just not the only people in the conversation

@roaminglion  I wouldn’t know what scientist to listen too roam or even look to be honest but I trust my doctor and I believe he’s always had my best interest for the last 30 years. I’m probably the only person left that would do what Dr Fauci says if another pandemic happened because I really believe he’s always meant well but he got dragged into politics and we both know that has a bad ending but I’d still do what that man says because I believe odds would be on my side listening to the professionals that’s just the way I am 😂
