This stuff is above my head on how they raise or lower them I’m just wondering if any of ya’ll know why we don’t let banks use the free market on what the rates are. Mine is a little over 3% so it doesn’t affect me but I know being around 6% is hurting a lot of people. Is this dude Powell doing the right thing keeping them steady because Joe and Trump complained about him so maybe he’s doing something right 😂
The reason the Fed doesn't want to lower rates is because of inflation. They feel that the supply chain would not be able to handle the increase in demands for good, especially with the uncertainty of the constant tariffs being thrown around and changed almost weekly. With lower rates, borrowing is easier and people buy more, which leads to much more demand. If the supply chain can't handle it, prices soar. This stuff is above my head on how they raise or lower them I’m just wondering if any of ya’ll know why we don’t let banks use the free market on what the rates are. That's their thinking.
Just a few days ago....(2) 80pd bags of type S mortar 13.65 each. Looking at my project folders, receipts from 6 months ago it was 9.85 per bag.
I passed on a piece of Mill finish Stainless steel plate for a meat smoker.
28" X 39" 1/4" thick quoted 342.00
1 cubic yard of modified. 42.00. Last year it was 35.00.
Just throwing my 2 cents in....
Hey Roam. How's everything in the Carolinas ? Are you all settled? Moving is a huge task at hand.
We actually found a house to buy quicker than we thought, so now it's out of the rental and into the new house. Moving again, ugh... Although this time it's more permanent. We are loving it here, thanks for asking!Just a few days ago....(2) 80pd bags of type S mortar 13.65 each. Looking at my project folders, receipts from 6 months ago it was 9.85 per bag.
