Tsuga, Hope everything is alright Sir. We haven't heard from you in while. Drop us a note to let us know you are OK!!!! We need you on this wall!
He hasnt posted anything since the end of May. I hope everything is alright
Hopefully he's just on sabbatical until season starts. Maybe Cave can drop him a line. Cave?
I'm still here guys. I had to take a break because the shit was getting rather deep in here. Thanks for thinking of me!! I'm still above snakes and doing well.
Tsuga
Welcome back, glad you are well.
Tsuga!!! Great to hear from you!! Was getting worried about ya!!!
Great to see your two typing fingers aren't broken! Glad you're back. Was thinking about you just last night as I was gobbling down some of Mrs. T's perogies.
Welcome back. Glad to hear that you're ok.
Glad to hear from you Tsuga
Navylion, should I be concerned reading that BT was thinking about me at night?? I've been touching base from time to time, just haven't been commenting. Been trying to get out into the woods to scout for deer but the heat and humidity up here has been higher than normal and that's been slowing me down.
I gotta laugh about how some things never change on here. Suzy is still taking swipes at Murr-dog and changing nics faster than Mama Cass could eat a sandwich. I saw where Remoh and Bulldog are still exchanging barbs so nothings changed on that front.....lol.
Not sure what to make of the Urban Meyer mess but after what our University went thru I'm really trying to reserve judgement until the smoke clears and the dust settles.
Anyway, hope you guys are all doing well and having a wonderful summer. Keep your powder dry, the wind in your face and the sun on your back. I'll try to check in more frequently
Tsuga
BTW: it was good to see our old buddy FD back on here!!
Tsuga you kill me! LOL! Glad to hear from ya! Yea not much changes around here. Same ole stuff just different site!
I hear ya on the Meyer thing, if it is all true it is a sad state of affairs. He didn't know anything and neither did the office but he properly reported and handled everything the right way??? Plus I just watch the Zack Smith interview and he says Gene Smith the AD and Urban talked to him about it in 2015. What the hell????
Heat and humidity! Man it's as hot and humid as Hades down here in Jacksonville. The rain has been ridiculous as well! Haven't been able to fish in the creek by my house it is so flooded! I joined a Rod and Gun club and haven't been able to go to the range for the last 6 weeks!! Definitely putting a damper on my summer chores and activities!!!
Glad all is well! Don't stay away so long!!!!
lol You're safe T, I was thinking about you at the table while eating evening chow, not after I retired for the evening.
Thought you were ok and might probably be keeping tabs on things, just maintaining a low profile or hoping that was the case at any rate.
Unfortunately I'm with you on the heat & humidity and being slow. Still working on getting Little Suzy's wood split and delivered to her place. (fortunately my Sue isn't a PA resident, but backs the Lions because I do and is not to be confused with your Suzy) I believe the deer flies have finally started to slow down or at least I only got bit once today. So that means the woods will be a bit more enjoyable and I can soon start dropping trees for next year's fire wood.
I'm ready for September!
I hear ya there BT, September and October can't come soon enough for me. The southern boys of the forum are probably laughing at us griping about this heat. The heat drove me inside already today. I have a shed I need to build before winter but I'd like to get it done before football season starts. Right now, it's hotter than a half f*cked fox in a forest fire. Winter wood? I'm behind in that too. I have maybe three cords cut, split and stacked and have about 6 more to go. My splitter crapped out on me and i'm waiting for a spark plug and filter to be delivered. Living off the grid like I do, I usually carry spare parts like that for all my equipment but for some reason i didn't re-stock when i used them the last time. Either that or I've forgotten where I put them. That's getting to be more common now a days too. I know what they mean by the young and the elderly need to stay in when its hot!!!
BT, I split my wood the same way i like my women.....horizontal. Nicster burns his wood the same way he prefers his women......dead and dry.
You were a "tank crank"?? Im not sure if i ever told you this but when i hit civilian life, i worked in R&D as a consultant for a military contractor. Not sure if you're familiar with the 120mm tank round dubbed the "silver bullet" or not but I was part of the team that developed it. It was the first round developed that was able to pierce Russian armor. My hat's off to you boys that stayed in the tin cans.....i felt more comfortable with my boots on the ground.
I might have to look into a splitter that runs off my PTO.
I like my women in any position I can get 'em! And yes, breathing is a requirement for a good time...though the ex used to play 'possum occasionally.
No, not me, one of my machinists/mechanics was a tank jockey. Tanks attract too much attention for my comfort, not low profile. Silver bullet does register in my mind for some reason and not the too much water, not enough malt version. I was an Elint guy, what NavyLion called a "T" brancher.
I would never go back to a trailer type splitter. They're fine for your back yard, but can be a PITA to get around the in wood with....always seems to be a tree in the way of the bucket as you try to back up in a tight spot. When my sons were around for helping, we'd bring all the wood to the barn, split size stuff went on the split pile. When the pile got big enough, we'd split it. After they moved out, my brain realized I was handling it an extra step and always had to clean up the bark & debris once I was done splitting. Now I split in the woods and everything goes right in the barn.
You should be able to find a good used one. Not much to them, so pretty easy to see if they're in good shape or not, unlike buying a used car which usually seems to bite you in the ass. The only drawback w/ the 3 pt splitter is you can't split and haul at the same time. Of course that's easily remedied by buying a 2nd tractor! And a front mount snowblower!!! You can always get the new tractor for Mrs T as Christmas gift.
If i bought my wife a tractor for Christmas, she'd kill me. Besides, I've already decided to get her an all expense paid elk hunt out west for her Christmas present. It aint my fault she doesnt hunt
You S.O.B.! Such a well thought out gift...you raise the bar to the upper limits for us poor schumcks trying to get by with jewelry and the like. Thanks a BUNCH!
That's why the old gal stuck with me for over 50 years. I gots me some charisma!!
Congrats on the 50+ years!
Sorry to hear about you having charisma though. Maybe you can see a specialist & they can help? On the bright side, at least it's not terminal.
