I saw him this morning.  The buck i've been chasing all season.  i was hunting a power line behind my house this morning hit a grunt call just a daybreak. I saw him about 50 yds above me and he hesitated a bit before stepping out onto the powerline.  Just then a doe came up and positioned herself between me and the buck and pretty much escorted him across the pipeline out of my sight.  They dont get big from being stupid.  Monday our "smokepole" season starts so I'll see if I can run into him again.
