The Iwish have finally achieved the epitome of pettiness! Seems they are not allowing Purdue's iconic Bass Drum at their upcoming home game with the Boiler Makers! They have a narrow field entrance for the visiting team and the drum won't fit through it. They refuse to let Purdue bring it into the stadium using an alternate entrance. How low can you go? And to top it off, this is the 100 yr anniversary for the drum! Hopefully Purdue can use this as motivation and beat the crap out of Notre Lame.

I wouldn't allow it either. Liability issues. What if it gets damaged? Who pays for it? If it doesn't fit through one entrance what's it going to cause? Use your brain on occasion. Notre Dame will probably lose 2 or 3 games this year
???????? The drum has been at every Purdue football game (including at ND) since 1979. All of a sudden you think it's a liability issue?Maybe other teams should start banning the leprechaun. After all, he's a creepy looking fella that can cause severe emotional trauma to any kiddies attending the games!

Called a waiver, Purdue signs a document releasing ND of any liability due to the narrow entrance. Very simple.

Yeah, fire hazard. Blocking entrance if it gets stuck. I'm sure anyone with half a brain would say no.

So something that's been in use since 1979 without incident is now a "fire hazard"?
Also, ND isn't allowing them to use the main tunnel for some lame reason I'm sure.

Well, you have proved that what you just said, to be true.
You think he has half a brain?

Unfortunately, his drum has no skins.
The drum fits through the main tunnel. When the stadium was renovated a second tunnel was built for the use of the visiting team and band. The drum doesn’t fit through the new tunnel but fits through the original tunnel that is reserved only for ND.
This is another example of Christian hypocrisy. The right thing to do would be to allow a few band members to bring the drum on the field hours before the game. No doubt Christ would not have a problem with that.
Total ND BS!
Unfortunately, ND marches to the beat of a different drummer.

I didn't think of that, and it makes total sense. WWTJD... What Would Touchdown Jesus Do?
@roaminglion: I'm guessing the Irish are concerned that Purdue will have football players hidden in the bass drum and they'll come in and beat their butts.
I like that Tsuga. Kinda like USC and their Trojan horse so to speak.
