James Franklin kicking some serious butt in recruiting BT. Another stud LB’r on the way!😁🇺🇸🍺
If we're 6-0 going into the Suckeyes game we really be better!
We should be 6-0 going into the Ohio State game. 5-1 is acceptable, and 4-2 would be an utter failure. Michigan is the only team we play in Phil Steele's top 40, we need to at least beat the teams we should.
More better! Got a verbal today from the guy that I think will be the gem of the class if he overcomes his injury.

Mo Betta! Lol, it’s a common thing to hear on the islands. Recruiting again is yet still very hot for Franklin and staff this year. The talent keeps coming so I hope we can see the results on the field soon…like this year. Still would like to see a couple more bug uglies on both sides of the line though.
IMO we play 3 big teams this year, Auburn, Michigan and Ohio State. We need to win 2 out 3 to have a great season but if we can get 1 win and run the table on all the other teams including winning our bowl game it will be a good season. I know auburn has struggled the last few years but they’re just like Penn State, they have the talent to beat any team in the country they have a bunch of good players on their team on both sides of the ball.

Why is Auburn a "big team"? Because they are in the SEC? They weren't good last year and no one thinks they will be any good this year either. The only time they've been ranked in the last 4 years they lost to Minnesota in a bowl game.
This does not qualify as a "big team"
IMO Auburn has been the ugly stepchild of the SEC. Basically a second/third tier team outside of a few run ups; good for a 7-8 win season. Playing Auburn should be like playing PSU for any good team, meaning its a toss up not a badass win.
@psu61 I understand exactly what y’all are saying and I pretty much agree with what y’all say but playing Auburn on the road in an OOC game and getting the win is a good win especially when we finished 7-6 last year. Auburn has had a lot off field issues from what I’ve heard and distractions keep you from winning games especially playing in the SEC. IMO if we go to Auburn and get the win it’s a very good win to get to get this team back playing with some confidence. When a fan base like Penn State is worried about beating Purdue there’s a problem and if y’all don’t believe me look at the record the last 2 years. It’s gotta get better and a win at Auburn will help.

We’ve got the players brother!

Gotta be the coaching then, lol.
@psu61 it’s definitely coaching. We’ve got good coaches their track record speaks for itself imo what they haven’t done good is coaching together, I believe that’ll change this year, we will see results on the field. I believe our coaches will have a chip on their shoulders this year.
@southern-psu-fan All wins are good brother, just that some are better than others. Kinda like beating Rutgers, they aren't much to get excited about, but it sure feels good!
@been-there-ii I love watching Georgia lose but ain’t seen a whole lot of it lately 😭
@southern-psu-fan That was my point, beating Auburn is a good win... nothing more. When you beat a "big team" it's a great win.
Beating Purdue is a good win, beating Ohio State is a great win.
...and enough with the distractions BS. Every single team has distractions, you don't think Nick Saban and Kirby Smart have distractions?
If a coach isn't winning because of "distractions", he's not a good coach. They don't get paid 5 million dollars a year because it's easy, heck... Maybe half the job is helping the team deal with the distractions.
@roaminglion we’ll find out this year because distractions are over. No Covid-19, contracts or stadium improvements are standing in the way, if we win 10 or 11 games, I’m right, if we don’t you’re right. I personally don’t think Saban gets involved in stadium crap he lets other people worry about that he concentrates on football plus having the best players don’t hurt. https://www.si.com/college/pennstate/.amp/football/penn-states-james-franklin-addresses-question-about-coaching-distractions
I’m not the only one who thinks he’s distracted.
Just my opinion, but beating Illinois at home should be controllable especially when they stink.

EXACTLY ! I’m so sick of reading excuses. There are ZERO excuses for the performance of the PSU football team the past 2 seasons. Stop acting like we are the only team that has to overcome internal issues or other distractions.

1. Everyone had to deal with COVID, so saying it was a distraction for Franklin is nonsense.
2. Franklin still had 4 years left on his previous contract, which ran through 2025. Are you seriously saying that 4 years of guaranteed income is somehow "distracting"? He didn't need a new contract, that's utter BS.
3. "Stadium Improvements" - Seriously, if we even lost one game last year because Franklin was more interested in dealing with stadium improvements then he should be fired immediately. FFS that's complete nonsense. He's paid to coach Penn State Football, not be a cheerleader for Beaver Stadium upgrades to the detriment of our team.
