Been keeping in touch with Tsuga through PA Kid. The old War horse is having a tough go of it with this damn COVID thing. Just to bring everyone up to speed, Tsuga is in the VA hospital. COVID has hit him pretty hard and the kid is up there by his side! T's wife is at the house and doing pretty well. I agree with the Kid that if T wasn't vaccinated he probably wouldn't have a chance of fighting through it.
PA Kid has been reading the NIT Board posts to him so he is keeping tabs on you all. Cave asking for a mulligan here this 1 time. In my e-mail I asked the Kid to to pass this on to his grandpa for me.
He said to tell you (Navy Lion) that he's getting yours and SPF's sorry southern asses up here to do some ice fishing.He also wants you to tell Lake and BK to save him a seat on the geritol couch and to slide their sorry asses over to make from for CT. He's dictating a lot of stuff here.......He'd like to know how Roam's new baby is doing and was sorry to hear that BT's family got the covid crap. He said to let BT know the three of you (T, Navy and BT) have to get together, roll a couple torpedoes and do some fishing sometime.He said to tell LB99 he's sorry about all the crap he's had to endure that past few weeks and he hopes things level out for him and to let MNL know he needs to relax and not get so wrapped up in PSU football, that there's bigger things in life.He also said to let FD know he's not ready for his services just yet either.He said it's one thing to bash the coach but in his opinion bashing any of the players is crossing the line. He has no problem with a kid declaring early for the draft but he's still on the fence about the sitting out the last game. And with that he just drifted off to sleep.....
Navy, Thank you for posting. So sorry to hear Tsuga is dealing with this. Even though we have never met, he seems like a great guy and genuinely good human being so this does hit home pretty hard. My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family.
Hey kid, if you continue to read these to him, tell him thank you for the concern. I appreciate it. We are doing alright.
Tell him he’s gotta get better. We all have PSU wrestling to watch! Cael is about to show the rest of the country he’s still the best coach at the best program in the country!

Yes, the old dude is crochety, gruff at times, ..He's real, and genuine too...and as an outsider, I m appreciative to him for welcoming me here..I very much enjoy kibitzing with him, and sharing our memories of many of the game's old time stars....He's knowledgeable, informative..and can share his opinions, usually in a very humorous way..and usually has an antidote to add.. And no one has more stories, metaphors, sayings than T..
This is a vivd reminder how dangerous this illness is , I would imagine by now, most, if not all of us our affected..Just in last month, my grandchildren, and nephews and nieces have been hit its very concerning, and scary...and hopefully there is light at end of tunnel, but tough to see now..
He will be in my thoughts and prayers...Tell him to try to sit up and enjoy national title game tonight...and please fill him in on what an epic day sunday was in the NFL ..AND Give him a ribbing for me on his Packers losing to Lions, though meaningless, how do you lose to the hapless Lions.....I shouldnt talk after my Eagles lost 51-26 to the 'Boys but like the Pack game , it was meaningless..AND they did beat the Lions, something like 44-6..

I've heard rumor, (maybe Lake can confirm) that the initiation for the Geritol couch, is drinking a Geritol, prune juice and kale smoothie. They maybe can set you up with a recliner until you get to feeling better. If you behave.
Tsuga, thanks for the concern. No worries here. I think Lil' Suzie's daughter has the OMG! strain. She's doing well, sore throat, cough, that's about it. Suzy on the other hand, is still all spun up and twitchy....even though she didn't get it. (that woman is a born worrier) Before Sue "un-quarantine's" herself, I'll be feeling like Navy at the end of a cruise. My therapeutic masseuse also had to quarantine, so I'm starting to walk like Quasimodo. I'll be signing in as "the Blue Balled Hunchback" before long.
As Navy said, get your malingering a$$ back home and relive Ms T of your fire keeping duties. (Glad she's doing ok)

Good grief, I had no idea Tsuga was having such a tough go at this!! Please let him know MtNittany has him in my thoughts and prayers. Also let him know I missed two doe with my muzzleloader last Friday and Saturday.....75 yards broadside in Blymeyers Hollow. I need him to get better before the season is over so I can get some input on how to shoot that damn gun!!

Hello Nits!!! Sorry its taken so long to respond to to this thread. Just wanted you all to know that I've read every comment to him and he didnt cry, but his lip did quiver a bit and that's as about emotional as he'll ever get. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. My family thanks you too.
Ok, where to begin?? He's been in and out of it for the past week or so. He has his good days and bad days. My younger brother and sister flew in and they've been helping out here at the VA hospital and at home with grandmother. In fact, quite a few of my cousins have gathered up here to help out. His Doctor told me that after a patient has been in as long as the old man has been here, they're either leaving to go home or heading to the morgue. Tuesday is his and my grandmother's 55th wedding anniversary and its not likely he'll be home for that. We did bring grandmother here but we had her outside the VA hospital and looking into his window. We caused quite a stir when we pushed his bed to the window so they could see one another and talk via cell phone.
I knew things were bad but you cant appreciate how bad it is until you see it first hand. I know some of you (Roam, LB99, and FD) are on the front lines or know people that are; and you've told us all many times how bad it is. But man, I had NO idea. His Doctor also works at another local hospital and he was telling me that if I were to have a heart attack I'd have trouble getting admitted because of all the covid cases. And on top of that, I would be able to get and ambulance transport because they're short on drivers and the ambulances that are running are filled with covid patients. He said those that are unvaccinated have are still telling him how dangerous the vaccine is while they're sucking air from a high flow tube.
Anyway, thanks again gang for all the well wishes and get wells ya sent his way. It meant a lot to him and me!!!

WHen he has a "good" day, would you tell him I am really struggling with this muzzleloader thing!! Missed another one at 65 yards last Friday night....broadside. Blymeyer hollow again - he will know! That is 5 shots with a muzzleloader now over three years and NO deer!

Against the good Dr's advice we'll be bringing the old fart home tomorrow for his 55th. Most of the family is up here anyway and the few stragglers that arent are due to arrive tomorrow if they can get flights in.
First thing this morning he told the attending that he's going home tomorrow to spend his anniversary with his wife. He told him "you either release me or I'll leave on my own" and an RN asked "Has your sense of smell and taste returned yet"? gramps looked at her and said "Hell girl im not gonna eat her im gonna bang her". There was a brief awkward silence and then he added "I'll be done in a minute." That pretty much lightened things up a bit and the Doctor relented. Pretty much what happened the last time he was up here.
Roam, you'd love to be up here right now to see all the long sad faces of the Pats fans. I love it.

@thepakid good news is he’s leaving the hospital on his own. even if he’s not 100% my man is still gettin better. Jehovah ain’t gotta hear everybody, just somebody and he heard somebody!
