The guy signed a contract with Washington north of $4 mill and then LSU reportedly came in and offered $6 mil. Now he thinks he can back out of the contract he signed and enter the portal.
$6 Mill for a college football QB is beyond ridiculous.
@southern-psu-fan They'll soon be trying to stay in college as long as they can because they know they won't make as much if they go pro.
@psujoe i agree homer. DA needs to try and get a medical redshirt and get him another big payday before he tries the NFL. Nothin Wrong with padding your pocket while you still can. With all the redshirts that dudes get for bs reasons there’s no reason DA shouldn’t be given one he really got hurt.
The thing is, there is something wrong with padding your pocket when it is hurting other young kids. If these guys who can't make it in the NFL try to stay longer and longer, they are taking spots away from kids just starting out. It is unfair to a 18yo kid coming out of HS for the NCAA to allow 27yo men to hold on long after they should have left@psujoe i agree homer. From what I've heard so far today Washington is going to sue Williams and LSU. The B1G is getting involved too.
@roaminglion I see what you’re saying but DA did get hurt and he didn’t get to play 4 years and some of these dudes are playing 6 or 7 years. I’m just looking after DA when I say that. I really believe he deserves a medical redshirt.
No sense in crying about it, the system is deigned perfectly for what is happening.
Its gonna be interesting to see how this plays out in the gambling world which I know nothing about.
Maybe all of this will stifle tuition inflation or get trades schools back in vogue
Actually this may result in community college football programs starting up and having tiered payment at all levels, hilarious. Hell a player could play 10 years in that model.
Yeah.....NIL, transfer portal. A complete mess that needs oversight and more regulation. We're only getting started. Take it for what it is.
For a side note, put yourself in their situation for one day. Come back and tell me that you wouldn't be happy. Cash is king.
