Sky Dude, academic integrity; are you out of your mind? You take the top 10 teams and you aren't gonna touch academic integrity to any significant degree. Beer drinking, reefer madness etc  after games and otherwise does more harm to athletes' academic integrity than playing 1-3 extra games a year. Come on man!

Yes academic integrity is at stake. But, college sports has evolved into a financial empire. Gone is the time when a bunch of guys from Princeton and Rutgers organized a low key game for fun. What kills me is that a short walk from UCLA’s 60 million new facility are substandard elementary and secondary schools.

K-12 is a completely different subject, UCLA's new facilities weren't built using public funds. they were built using donor funds.

Skylark, perhaps you should go to a UCLA forum and plead your case.

Yes, this playoff is flawed. Part of me is hoping for UGA to beat Bama so that the 4 that get in will be Bama, UGA, ND, and OK/OSU/Clemson. This would mean only 2 conferenec winners would get in and it would force the playoff to re-evaluate the system. The other part hopes UGA loses and only 1 SEC team gets in.

As far as the Oklahoma/Ohio St debate goes. No, Oklahoma does not have a good defense. However, the offense looks like a well-oiled machine and they may be much more exciting to watch in the playoffs than Urban and Co. The OK OL runs the offensive scheme blocking really well. I wish PSU would tap into that knowledge base of whomever is teaching that at OK  Also, their WRs run crisp, quick routes and they have good hands. The offensive play calling is well designed and timely. They have 1 loss to their rival, Texas, by 3 points, with a chance to avenge that loss this week  If they do, they belong firmly in the playoff conversation.

As for the Buckeyes, they have no one to blame but themselves. If they hadn’t stayed on the bus mentally in West Lafayette, they wouldn’t have the loss and it wouldn’t be an issue. They made Jeff Brohm and the Boilermakers look like Bill Walsh and the 49ers from their heyday. If I remember correctly, they gave up over 500 yards of offense to Purdue. Add to that, the last time they made the playoff, they may have taken PSU’s spot without winning the conference and they laid an egg against Clemson. Screw Ohio St. Leave them out.

If we played the same defenses as Oklahoma we’d score 50 or 60 points every game to. The weak  12 is garbage and Oklahoma will get drilled in the playoffs. Ohio st has athletes on defense to compete against Alabama and Clemson when chokelahoma dont. I hate this scam we got in college football, it’s BS as remoh would say lol. I agree I hope Ohio st gets left out LB’r  but I still don’t think it’s right because Ohio st played a much tougher schedule

They lost to Purdue!  Purdue! Gave up 49 points to Purdue! They also gave up 51 to MD as others said. They may have athletes, but sometimes those athletes take the night off. I’m sure Clemson would love to manhandle Ohio St again. That was embarrassing

The loss to Purdue can’t be ignored. It will hurt them in the end.

Texas beat  Oklahoma and lost to Maryland. I watched the Ohio st and Purdue game and IMO nobody would’ve beat Purdue that night. Them kids were fired up playing at night and playing for a kid with cancer. Purdue has a good QB and he was hot that night and Purdue took it to ‘em, it happens.

Notre Dame will get trounced too.

Yeah, Southern, I watched that game also. Great game by Purdue that night and great environment. That was huge for Purdue’s program. Brohm is a good coach and he has them headed in the right direction. Good to see him staying there.  But, nevertheless, it doesn’t look good on Ohio St’s resume. And, yes, Tsuga, ND will get their ears kicked in also and it will be glorious.

Oh please. Oklahoma gets beat by their main rival (who is ranked) on a last-second field goal and you're giving excuses like "Texas lost to Maryland" and Ohio State loses to an average Purdue team by 29 points and you act like they were superhumans on the field that night 😂😂😂😂

1. yes Texas lost in Maryland, and Purdue lost to Eastern Michigan.

2. If you're going to say Purdue was playing for a kid with cancer, then Maryland was playing for their fallen teammate. don't forget that it was a very special night for Maryland, that was the first game after their teammate died. kind of special day for Maryland too if you ask me

These crooks are the one saying we MIGHT judge teams on how they play others not me and they didn’t say head to head they give a scenario where like what happened with Texas and Maryland so I’m just going on what this scam committee says plus if they’re not going to play it on the field you have to judge it by something. They even mentioned it the other night on espn.

Southern... you're comparing a team that lost to an average team, to a team that lost to a team that lost to an average team.

This is ridiculous, Oklahoma didn't even play Maryland yet you are using Maryland as some sort of negative against Oklahoma.

Ohio State lost to Purdue. Oklahoma did not play Maryland. how you've convinced yourself that Texas losing to Maryland has any bearing on how good Oklahoma is I have no clue.

Also funn is Ohio State barely even beat Maryland

Roam, the guys espn was talking about Maryland beating Texas so it’s  not just me. If it was up to me Ohio st and Oklahoma would be in if they win their conference this weekend

Yeah, but if you bring up how Texas lost to Maryland how come you don't talk about how Purdue lost to Eastern Michigan?????

I don’t know who’s better than who because they don’t play. I think Alabama is the best team in the country but unless they play the winner of the big 10 I won’t know for sure. Like I’ve said it’s a scam system and the teams that get in are chosen not because they won something to get in. ND Ohio st and Alabama have got in the playoffs sitting home watching other teams fight for a conference title. Something is wrong with this picture.

I think you mean Notre Dame, Clemson, and Alabama. As for Notre Dame, I agree with you that they should join a damn conference already. I don't like the independent thing in today's landscape, just my opinion.

As for Clemson, I think if they lose then they are out. They are playing 7-5 Pitt, not 10-1 Georgia. If Clemson loses that game, Oklahoma and Ohio State are in if they win. No doubt, there is no way Clemson can lose to an unranked Pitt team and still get it. Not happening. That said, the only way Alabama misses the CFP is if Georgia blows them out.

If the NCAA continues to feel that they need only four teams in the playoff IMO there is a simple solution to end at least part of the controversy. You must play in and win a conference championship game to be eligible. This automatically eliminates those trying to get in the easy way and also eliminates the possibility that team A plays team B twice. Also this would take away at least a little of the leverage of the talking heads who spend their entire days this time of year trying to influence pollsters and those on the committee.

It's really just one simple tweak of the current system that could give most of us at least some of what we're screaming for.

Exactly what I say remoh, we have 5 power conferences pick 4 champions regardless of their record and let ‘em settle it on the field. One conference champ gets left out but IMO that makes it fun on arguing on which conference champ gets left out plus ND will be left out unless they get in a conference. Roams idea is good with me also

You can't say "let them settle it on the field" and then also say "it's fun to argue which one to leave out".

That basically means nothing is being settled on the field because the best conference champ could be left out of the playoff.

I was listening to ESPNU this afternoon and they are claiming that the only way to fix this broken system is to have both Alabama and Georgia get into the playoff and have people get pissed off enough that they demand change.

Them Yellow Jackets are nasty Southern! We had issues with paper wasps here for a few years but finally drove them out.

Funny thing I always wondered about GT, they are the Yellow Jackets but the warcry is "Bees!" Yellow Jackets are wasps! LMAO
