This is the biggest pile of chit I’ve ever witnessed. This Chit is worse than the BCS.Just go back to the old days system  or let computers decide. The computers at least wouldn’t be biased. Oklahoma gives up 47 points a game the past month and they think they are better  than Ohio st lol. Big pile of chit....period!

That's kinda funny considering Ohio State gave up 49 points to Purdue and lost. Who cares how many points you give up if you win? I told you Oklahoma would be #5

Ohio st did it one game Roam not every game, big difference but you did call it but it’s still a pile of crap. I ain’t got a problem with Oklahoma gettin in even though I don’t think they can stay on the field with Ohio st I have a problem with this scam committee possibly  taken Georgia and Alabama regardless who wins if the game is close when they left us out for losing 2 games.

One game? LMAO, they gave up 51 to Maryland just over a week ago and 39 isn't exactly awesome defense against Michigan either. Hogwash.

2 games then, that’s still much better than Oklahoma’s defense. Like I said I don’t have a problem with Oklahoma gettin in as long as they win Saturday. It’s 2 SEC teams again that bothers me and that’s their plan. I believe Oklahoma and Ohio st will get left out.

There's no way Georgia will get in with two losses if either OSU or OU wins this weekend, I think you're just being paranoid.

Then the committee has a big decision to make, Alabama or Oklahoma. In that matchup I think they'd take Alabama... unless Alabama gets hammered. In a way it might be good for college football, because I think people would be fed up with the 4 team playoff nonsense.

Agree, I know I’m fed up with it. I like your system but I want to do away with the conference championship games and play 10 conference games and go back to the old system whoever wins the most games wins the conference

I agree with that. But, did the best FOUR teams get in?  There is where I have my doubts and would like to see an 8 team playoff.

LMAO!  Under an opinionated system that only allows a select few into the party there will never be legit proof that the best team in the country has been crowned national champion.

The old system that was basically a popularity contest was better.

Sometimes the 5th or 6th team was better than a 4 or 3. But when that occurred the team that didn’t get in had a loss that should have been a win.  If they went to an eight team playoff, teams 9 and 10 would gripe. If PSU beat Ohio State & Michigan State, the Nittany Lions would be in the mix. Win the games that you should, then the committee can’t keep you out.  (Unless the school is UCF.)

Not true, win the games you can and the committee could still leave you out. What if Oklahoma and Ohio State hadn't lost their games? Under this system you are now forced to leave a undefeated team out. Take power conference champs, a group of 5 champ, and 2 wild cards and that doesn't happen.

I'd rather be arguing about #9 and #10 being left out, who we know did not win their conference... than arguing about which conference champion to screw over.

The best team has always won. That is what matters. Going to 8 teams infringes on the academic integrity of College Football. Additionally, the added game increases the risk of injury. The NCAA could lower the maximum number of regular season games but why impact 99.999999999% of teams that will not be involved in the playoff. All this so a bunch of sport fans feel happy!  Let me know when the best team is left out.

I call BS to the notion that "the best team has always won". You don't know that, because certain teams were left out after proving through the season that they were worthy.

In 2014 Ohio State jumped both Baylor & TCU in the final week. They then went on to win the CFP. How on earth can you say with certainty that Ohio State was better than the Big 12 champion? They both were denied the chance to prove it. One of them deserved the chance.

Last year around this time I threw out a suggestion to fix the majority of these problems.  Biggest thing in my mind that makes this CFP a mess is Conference Championships - some say those winners should get auto berth, but a 12-0 team that loses to a 8-4 team will still probably get in at 12-1 but the conference champ at 9-4 will not.  Time to reshuffle and create new conferences of 12 teams - so 11 game regular season.  All conf. winners get into playoffs.  Those teams that don't get into playoffs, will go bowling - great way to continue classic rivalries that got divided by creating new conferences.  This will work with a 8 team playoff format assuming the redivision of conferences leaves us with 96 schools.  Maybe some of the chumps need to be kicked back a bracket, DII or whatever.

You’re a silly guy Roam. Anyway, Baylor lost their Bowl game. Not sure about TCU.

That’s good fan talk. Great at a sports bar while enjoying a few lagers. It will never happen but the suggestion is noteworthy.

TCU absolutely crushed the #9 ranked team in their bowl game 42-3, and their only loss all season was by three points to a top 5 team.  They also had a bigger margin of victory against a common opponent of Ohio State's. So please, let me know how you can be certain TCU doesn't beat OSU that year?

Unfortunately they were never afforded the chance because this system is stupid. Not sure why this is "silly"?

Academic Integrity??  You seriously played that card??  Wrestling and Basketball typically go from November to March.  Their seasons are much longer than football's are.  Besides, you're talking about 2 teams playing 3 extra games, 4 teams playing 2 extra, and 4 teams playing one extra. In addition, many schools are on Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks at this time so your "academic integrity" will still be intact in most cases.....not all, most.  Most fall semester finals are the 2nd week of December( at least they were when I attended) and classes started back up around the 2nd week of January.  So your argument is pretty much weak sauce on the academic integrity.  I was able to combine athletics and academics during my time at PSU and our season was much longer than footballs.

It's the same BS argument they used before championship games were thing, and before the CFP was instituted.
