Ohio State first-year football coach Ryan Day faced an uphill climb earlier this year after signing his first recruiting class with the Buckeyes.
Day and the rest of his coaching staff were advised not to speak with any 2020 prospects on the phone between Feb. 6 and 18 as a result of punishment levied by the NCAA following the university's self-reported seven impermissible phone calls between March 2017 and June 2018, according to Eleven Warriors.
Wow the NCAA came down hard... LOL
According to some of the articles, they are minor violations. Micah Parsons name was mentioned and had some involvement. OSU is on the roll with recruiting if you look at the rankings. I assume this hot streak will continue with recruiting. Next year OSU will most likely be in the playoffs. They are loaded.
Lol....did we really expect anything different?? The one that cracked me up was the Larry Johnson SR "mistake" in which he claims he forgot that the recruit he was tweeting with was from the class of 2021 not 2020. C'mon now, seriously?? He played Urban Meyer's "memory card" and the NCAA bought it?? What's interesting to me is that these are the ones they self-reported. How many major ones have the committed and are trying to keep secret. Maybe the car dealerships in Columbus are supplying the NCAA investigation committee with free cars?? After all, their players have been getting them for years.

Of course they self-reported the minor ones. I'm hearing the NCAA is looking into some other possible major violations. Can a sanctioned team make the playoffs??

No... teams sanctioned for major violations are almost always banned from post season. The NCAA even has a process in place where they can grant waivers to non-bowl eligible teams (based on record) if there aren't enough teams due to sanctions.
LOL........I knew that Roam.
It was a rhetorical question. I wasnt expecting an answer from anyone.
On the other hand, you may have saved Suzy countless hours searching for an answer.
Ohio st has had a lot of trouble around the football team the last 7 or 8 years. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what comes down the pipe. Alabama and Miami had a few problems years back and the ncaa hit them pretty hard. Jim Delany piled on with the ncaa with penn st so let’s see if the big 10 does anything.
No disrespect intended Southern, but NCAA & B1G vs OSU? LMAO!
Exactly right lol. Taking me a Miller Time break from cutting grass but man does the grass smell good on this cool morning. 5 more weeks bob 😁 it’s actually a Yuengling break but you get my drift lol
Thanks for reminding me, Southern. I need to make my grass smell good too! I don't take a Miller break though - gave up brewskis about 20 years ago. I finally realized I couldn't drink it all. They just kept on makin' more!! Actually, the Yuengling brewery is in Pottsville, only about 25 miles south of me. Enjoy, and have a great weekend buddy.
