I saw that posted on PL and back checked myself... Seems like a simple money grab in civil court.
This is a civil suit... He is represented by the same lawyer that represented the goofy team Dr. in his lawsuit.
I think this will be just a string of ongoing issues since some see PSU as an easy target due to the Sandusky crimes.

DA already said there is nothing to prosecute over. What also bothers me is the lawyer Marino that is representing him, same guy representing a disgruntled team Dr.
After a few months of investigation by the PSU office off sexual misconduct and behavior and witnesses and lie detectors, police reports and DA review nothing was found to warrant any arrests.

If you knew Luketa, you'd know this is BS. That's one kid who is as proper, quiet and respectful as any I've ever known. I've known him since he was a freshman. There's no way he was part of this.

I don't think anything happened, it's a money grab. Hard to believe that with all the guys who transferred none of them are backing up his story. Have to ask why he's the only one.
As for lie detectors, I would never, ever take one in a million years. They are completely unreliable and faulty. Even the guy who invented the device says it's use for lie detection is spotty. I'd never want to put my freedom or life in the hands of a device that's been widly studied and shown to be completely ineffective.
The American Polygraph Association claims they are 80% to 90% accurate. First, that claim isn't backed up by any evidence, as studies show the percentage to be much lower... but even it is was, is anyone willing to bet on a 1 in 5 chance the machine messes up and you look guilty???
Just about a no win scenario... say you won't take it and people will think you're guilty, or take it and risk the possibility of it confirming something you actually didn't do.
Costs $$$ to defend. As long as each party has to pay their own attorney, there is more incentive to settle the case than to take to trial. I have not read the complaint, but I think that much of the complaint is rooted in an allegation of negligence. If so, there would be insurance coverage and insurance companies do not like to pay attorneys. It's easier to settle the case and pass the loss along to the insured. The attorney knows this, and is banking on a settlement.
