Ran into a buddy of mine this morning while getting coffee at the gas station.  My understanding is one local HS team only have 23 kids on the roster. 23 ! Not sure what factors are involved,  but that is a bad sign for the future of Sports in America.  Ok, let's move onto another topic that we discussed and that involved laziness and I agree with him 100 percent.  I know people who are too lazy to cut their own grass and they bitch and moan about doing it,  but yet they sit in front of their TV watching BS news from every major news outlet on the planet,  CNN , Fox. Let's not forget about every sit com too. Get your arse off the couch and do something and motivate yourself, go for a hike, work in your garden.  Recently,  I had nearly 1 tri axle of dirt from a Harley rake  lot clearing. It was a hard job and do you know who got rid of it ? I did. My pick up truck and a shovel got rid of it and I saved myself 600 dollars for someone to get rid of it. I sweat my arse off but I kept at it and got the job done.  I'm so sick and tired of hearing people talk about how sore they are or how high their cholesterol is. Its lack of excersise. That's what it is.

No one will ever say the weather in my part of the state is tropical. I really enjoy outdoor landscaping the summer months afford me to do and I burn more calories doing those chores than my daily 1 hour spinning workout. I’m also too cheap to hire anyone so it works out. Also true is that I’m better at working the lawnmower than repairing it but I’m trying and realizing tiny successes.

To play devil's advocate... most people get off their arse and work all day, so sitting down to watch news for an hour or two isn't being lazy, it's trying to find out what is going on in the world.

I mean, sure some people want to save money and also enjoy doing it themselves...I enjoy cutting the lawn actually, find it kinda peaceful and love the smell of fresh cut grass... but if their weren't people who paid to have someone else do it, a lot of people would be out of work. LMAO

My daughter and son-in-law  is in the process of buying their house and man has it been a hassle gettin it done with my brother in prison. Hopefully I’ll some help with yard work with my son-in-law 😁

Good for you spf...when we visit with our daughter and SIL I always cut and trim his lawn. He works hard till 7 every night and I know he wants to hang with their son when he gets home. My wife usually cooks the meal. Like Roam, I love cutting the grass for the same exact reasons.

We've got 5 1/2 acres here in Oregon, thankfully only about 2 isn't forest. Still, I hand pushed a mower around for a while until we got a ride on. Those felt like looooooooooongggggg days.

Even with the ride on, it still takes a decent amount of time with the edging/trimming.

I don't know Lake , feels pretty tropical these past couple of days.

Mowing or bushhogging, love the fresh air. Almost as fun as knocking down trees. Although, the twice a week mowing is getting old. Rains have finally slowed down, now if the grass will, I can get my winter heat in the barn.

I agree on the tropical analogy.  Ive been outside from 0500 to 1100 the past few days and then i come in for the afternoon.  I head back out at about 1800 and go till dark.  Im like BT, I always have some project going on.  We have over 500 acres on our homestead so there's plenty of work to do.  Our "lawn" Consists of about 3 acres.  My "wife's garden" that i till, weed, and water is about a 1/4 acre and then we have about 50 more acres that i mow off and let a local farmer bale it for hay.  Who said retirement was easy??  On second thought, Im sitting here on my arse writing to you guys!!

My wife and I get into "discussions" about my laziness.  I tell her it's a good thing I'm lazy. She does more work than she needs to, and I do less.  So it balances out.  (That's paraphrasing Gus McCrae from Lonesome Dove).
