@the-funeral-director Some folks just don't know how to admit they were wrong. But yeah, wish he'd post again, he was usually right on the mark with his football info.
I should probably clarify that I don't know if this is the same guy or not. I used to follow a HS football page a few years back and seem to recall a merge or buyout of some type.
The guy that ran it was named Billy Splain. I started to follow him on Facebook. He was very outspoken about those who didn't share his same political views or for that matter his same opinions. It was for that reason that I stopped following him on either venue.
I remember he came here and posted that the 2020 COVID season would resume and the stadium would be "PACKED. LOCK IT. "
Well, soon after the governor locked everything down.
A few angry birds challenged his post and said he was wrong. Few people posted angry comments,, challenged his predictions and he vanished.

Hmm. Maybe he did have separate political web page. I used his site for schedules, updates.
@the-funeral-director I feel the same way FD. Like you, I didn't agree with his politics but having met him at least 5 times, I really liked him. I thought his football acumen particularly Penn State and high school was as good as it got on this forum. Very funny too. I have not talked to him since his departure from here.

What side was he on.
He left voluntarily after arrogantly and condescendingly posting/regurgitating COVID misinformation. He couldn’t help himself and interjected a severely one sided radical political view into many conversations about it. I had implored Cave to clean up the political talk prior to it all and then again when he started again without success. When a few of us, myself included, who were dealing with the COVID front lines (myself, roam, and FD) provided any info that contradicted his COVID views, he got even more condescending. I liken it to me telling an Iraq war vet what was really going on in Iraq despite me never being there.
I didn’t agree with his COVID misinformation or his radical political views. He called me names and accused me of talking down to people, which was never my intent. I may have to him after his rants continued, but I don’t think I do to others? Southern and I don’t agree on everything, but I respect his opinion and I feel he feels the same. It’s a mutual respect of differences of opinion. Murray never had that. It was his way or you were wrong. He was constantly saying COVID is nothing and Penn State would start the season on schedule and have a full stadium in September 2020. BOOK IT! We see how that turned out. If you questioned it or challenged it, he got angry.
This whole conversation reminds me of the scene in Tombstone when Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) asks his brother Virgil where Doc Holliday is? He says “ Where is Doc, I miss that coot?” Virgil (Sam Elliot) looks at Wyatt and says, “I don’t”. Consider me Virgil, I guess.

This is pretty much spot on.
OK Time to shut this thread down before the BS gets any deeper.

@lionbacker99 He did/does have pretty good insight regarding HS & PSU football.
But yeah, he could be pretty verbally abusive if you didn't agree w/ him 100%.....to the point that I even felt bad for niccy once or twice.
@been-there-ii LOL....he doesn't sound that much different than some of the other posters on here.

Some people have the mentality of "my way or the highway "🛣

Not sure if you do Facebook or not but if you do, check out his page. It's bizarre, in fact it's rather scary

Yes, I've seen his page... it's basically regurgitated BS talking points and conspiracy theory memes mixed in with "look at how much smarter I am than scientists because I googled it" nonsense.
Just mention Bill Murray and a thread blows up ! Fact is he knows more about College and High School football than any of you and was probably the best and most knowledgeable poster on this forum. You guys ran him off because you couldn't keep your political views to yourself and he disagreed with them.

He left because he embarrassed himself and couldnt deal with saying he was wrong, but thanks for your usual "you all suck" post. I now await your usual "pot meet kettle" post like you just used in the other thread, if anything you're consistent.

Lmao. He is good at what he likes, high school football. Some of his stories were a little exaggerated. Like the time when college football coaches took his advice how to kick FG's and win football games. I never bought his B.S either claiming his websites are chosen to recruit D1 football athletes.

LittleJoe, I checked into this Murray guy's profile on here (which is something that anybody can do) and his last post was on June 20, 2020. You didnt join this forum till October 31, 2020. So my question to you is: "How can you say he was run off if you werent even here to witness it"??
I have to agree with what Roam and Linebacker had to say. Reading over some of BM's posts, he does appear to be a condescending know-it-all type of guy.
I doubt very much that anybody "ran him off" but rather he was too prideful to admit he was wrong and chose to leave.

No, he ran off because he predicted the stadium would be full capacity and he was wrong. I still respect him but when you are wrong, you are wrong. Just accept it rather than trying to protect a rather large ego.
@forum-titan Did he himself play any college football?? He sounds like he was pretty full of himself
Murray knew his stuff when it come to football I’m not on Facebook so I didn’t see that side of him but I always enjoyed talking with him. Lake met him a few times if I remember right. He was definitely wrong about the Covid-19 stuff but make no mistake about it, he knew his stuff when it comes to football he was on the same playing field as Roam and a few others.
