Is considering 9 AM game time in order to get more exposure on the east coast.  Noon kickoffs rattle some people, but a 9 start would have no student attendance.

I’d bet the players wouldn’t like starting that early. I don’t even like 12 o’clock games. I like 1 o’clock or 3:30 start times so I’m not sure the fans would even like it.

I remember the good old days with 1:30 kick-offs the norm at Beaver Stadium.  Also, Joe once said that night games would be unfair for PSU fans, especially in November.  Then the portable lights, TV and $$$$ over-ruled that thought!  Permanent lights, uncertain kick-off times and more $$$$ became the norm!!

@rip

I was at the Nebraska game with the temporary lights in 1982. Some of the lights went out part way through the game, but everything was back on before the big finish.

As long as fans keep watching and advertisers keep paying, the networks will keep pushing the limits of what fans will have to endure.

I think it's a good idea, I don't buy that students wouldn't show up. Of course they would. The west coast gets up just fine and watches 10 am NFL games, this would be no different.

If it doesn't work you go back to the drawing board, but not trying it because you are worried people "might" not like it is stupid. If they don't, again just change it back.

Yeah, so what if students who have trouble getting into the stadium for a noon kickoff don't make to a 9 am game on time. It's not like they had much to do with the development of college football or even universities in the first place. Satisfying the appetites of fans and making more $ to feed the system is what is most important.

Hence Friday night games.  MD is essentially shutting the school down the afternoon of our Friday night game there.

Why don't they just start the weekend of games at noon on Friday and run them through the night until midnight of the following night. Thirty-six hours of continuous football! Wouldn't that be fantastic?

Why is everyone acting like students don't know how to get up before 8 am? LMAO, what a joke.

I see kids walking around campus and downtown Corvallis on Saturdays all the time. Come on guys, it's a football game maybe 6 times a year if every home game is a 9am (which it wouldn't be). It's not a big deal to get up early MAYBE 2-3 times a year for a big game. Give me a break, this argument is nonsense.

I certain know that me, nor any of my friends would have skipped a big game because it was at 9.

Back when the great Dale Earnhardt was racing when we’d go to Atlanta and Talladega we’d  leave at 5am so we could beat some of the traffic because it was brutal getting to and from the race so if penn st was playing I would definitely get up and go if the game was at 9. The reason I don’t like early games is because we don’t play good in early games. Y’all remember the game at Minnesota tony Hunts Sr year? We won but man was it a nail bitter. I haven’t liked early games since lol. I don’t remember what happened but I think Minnesota got a bad call and we won the game because of it....we’ll take it baby. I’ll take a win anyway we can get it lol

I would love 9:oo a.m. games at PSU.  Game over at 12:00 or 12:30.  Get home at 3:30 just in time to go duck hunting for the evening flight.  SWEET !!!!!!!

I'd rather 9am games on Saturday than Friday night games... that much I know.

Agree Roam Friday is for high school football during the regular season. Playing on Friday night for bowl games is fine but not the regular season.
