Man it’s nice watching him play knowing he’s healthy. We are stacked at RB and got some big time studs on the way baby.#21 definitely gives us the best chance to win but the guys behind him are pretty dang good too. ,y’all remember me saying we need to win these last 4 games last year to start building on something and it’s paying off now we’ve won 6 straight. Boy winning knowing you’re good sure does make you feel good 😊 It’s Auburn time now!

You're right about Cain, Southern.  I'm feeling good about Clifford too.  It looks like he's gaining confidence and improving as he gets more comfortable with the new OC.  I'm also pleasantly surprised by Roberson and not so afraid now when Clifford runs, lol.  The D still looks good to me.  My biggest concern is the O line & Stout.  I think we'll get a better feel for where we are after the Auburn game.

If Clifford doesn't STOP missing routine passes I don't care how well Noah Cain does.  You can't beat Ohio State and Iowa on the road when your QB is missing 10 yards or less passes to wide open guys.  I like the fact that Clifford hasn't put the ball on the ground at all this year, great improvement, but now he needs to improve on his short yardage passing efficiency. There was some wind yesterday, it may have played a little factor, but his receivers made some great catches and he sailed several over their heads for no reason at all....JUST LIKE LAST YEAR.  And for a guy who likes to run, he missed several opportunities to pick up first downs when the middle of the field was wide open.  He FINALLY made one big run late in the game, hopefully Yurcich brought the previous opportunities to his attention, but those QB runs were their most of the day.

As for Oline, I just don't know.  Ball State was a good team, just didn't have the quality of players that Penn State has overall.  But their Dline got to Clifford WAY TO MUCH yesterday.  Their coverage in the secondary was also good!

Penn State played a well balance game yesterday.  Passing for the most part was good, running game was good and the defense played another great game and even put points on the board - which by the way was an incredible read!!! Another missed FG?? Not digging that issue either.

Auburn has played absolutely NOBODY!!! They ain't coming into Happy Valley and putting 60 points up on the board against this Penn State defense.  If Clifford and the Oline can have a good week of practice, work one some the minor issues they are having, they can blow Auburn right out of Beaver Stadium Saturday night!

GO STATE!!!!

Only 69 yards on 20 carries but there is no sense of wearing him out, it is a long grind.  Lee had 68 yards on 8 carries and his long was only 12 yards.  240 rushing yards for the team is good.

10 different receivers (3 backs) caught balls which seems big and yet Ball State had 13.

Guess I hope that some of the O lineman took plays off because the game was never in doubt but they can't take plays off against the big boys.

I'm thinking that receivers are catching catchable balls not like a few years ago...notable improvement.

Auburn will be the toughest game of the year. They have players as good as ours. Nix when he’s on can destroy a defense I watched him put up around 45 or 50 on Alabama a couple of years ago. I said it before the season started that the Auburn game will be a dog fight. I believe we win but it will be a slug fest. Auburn doesn’t get intimidated playing on the road they are a great road team.

Bo Nix didn't play well in that game. Not even sure he was even 50% passing. Auburn's defense had 2 pick 6's and some other plays that set their offense up.

If I remember, Alabama outgained them almost 2 to 1.

Bo Nix didn't put up those points lol

@roaminglion  now that I think about it was Mac Jones who played really good that game but Alabama still lost. Mac Jones was a backup and played very good. My bad I got the QB’s mixed up but Nix can be a dangerous QB I’ve seen him have some good games but sometimes he can stink up the field. This is the game that scared me the most.

Auburn the toughest game of the year? Whatever your on Southern you can stop now cause your high enough...I expect Penn State to beat them by at least 2 TD's...Toughest game of the year will be in Iowa...Then Ohio State in the shoe...You overrate the SEC...I don't think Georgia is that good...Clemson at #5? That is a reach as well...This will all sort itself out after a few more weeks...

By what metric do people use to constantly say the SEC is overrated? I'm seriously curious. The best from other conferences fails to beat them most of the time, yet many always say it's luck, bias, or whatever.

We are gonna find out how good the SEC is this week at State College...Let's see how this mighty Auburn team does against Penn State this Saturday...They play against themselves...Each year is a new year...Kids graduate and move on...Bama beats #14 Miami...How good is Miami? Did they deserve a #14 ranking? They were lucky to beat Appalachian State...LSU goes out to UCLA and gets beat...My gripe is that the games should matter...You lose and you go to the back of the line...Ohio State got beat they should drop...The problem is these sacred cows get beat and they still keep their spots...Many of these top ranked teams have freshman QB's...My gripe is the strength of schedule should be adjusted as the year goes on...They inflate these rankings to suit the needs of the sacred cows...I don't say it is luck...It is bias for sure and it goes on year after year...If you can't win your conference or at least play for your conference championship you don't belong in the playoff...simple as that...

That's the best advice I've heard yet "This will all sort itself out after a few more weeks..."  Like they say - if it's brown, flush it down...if it's yellow, let it mellow.

@the-funeral-director Preach it brother!

I don't think there should be any ranking(s) until 6 weeks into the season.

I agree BT but it gives people like us to talk or bitch about them. It’s probably part of their agenda for doing it.

Why would us beating Auburn prove anything about the SEC? They are like the 7th best ranked team in that conference.

We SHOULD beat them.

Bob, I thought I heard it all before but your quote is hilarious.

I once saw it on the inside of a toilet seat lid.  The advice was visible when the lid was up, lmao.
