We ain’t gettin no love from the rankings on espn baby. They got us 20th got UNC, garbage Cincinnati, Oregon and Wisconsin in front of us. Ohio St is 5th with the Tide at a deserving #1. I have a good feeling after we put an azz kicking on Wisconsin and auburn we’ll be back in the top 5. Absolutely no respect for Penn State football 🤬

I have been saying this for years now...ESPN isn't going to give any B1G team credit as they are the competition...They have been putting their thumb on the scale for years in favor of the SEC and ACC and to a lesser extent the Big 12...They have promoted those conferences shamelessly and aided them in recruiting for years...It has gotten worse the last few years because of their partnership channels with the SEC and ACC...It is going to be very interesting to watch their actions now that the money is all out in the open now...I wonder how much NIL funds they are going to contribute to the athletes in the SEC and ACC? The ace in the hole for the B1G is their financial advantage being the wealthiest conference...This is going to get very interesting in the next year or 2...

Well love is a 2 way street, we don't love them either.  All about entertainment and $.  They hacked Paterno/PSU and they are the SEC network.  I bet NBC has ND ranked high.

I will say only this, what Big Ten team other than Ohio State is really deserving of that love? None of us have done much to deserve it, other than the 2016 PSU team but even then we were punked by another Big Ten team anyway.

@roaminglion  2017 we had a good run and 2019 we had a good run but we get a garbage bowl game with Memphis when we should’ve got a better team and beating Memphis don’t help recruit the best players. The Washington win was a good one but these teams like Cincinnati and Memphis don’t do anything for ya if you beat ‘em. That’s why I hate playing these lightweight teams like Memphis because if you beat ‘em nobody cares.

After a lackluster 4-5 season last year, does PSU really deserve respect? Who cares anyway. I like being the underdog and having the team play hungry and angry. Nothing wrong with a little motivation.

@lionbacker99  if we have a great season these scumbags voting will hold it against us if it come to gettin in the top 4 if we’re tied with wins with a team like Clemson  they’ll use it as an excuse just like they did in 2016.

Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson will get a pass for losing when we won’t. These rankings early bad rankings could hurt if you’re trying to get in over these 3 teams.

Who gives a shit what ESPN says or thinks ? I can't believe you're still watching that garbage and following their website. There's much better places to go for CFB news and info than them.

P.S. I believe PSU may have been unranked in pre season polls during one of the NC years so  obviously they mean nothing.

I agree with Joe. Preseason rankings mean nothing. They are just for conversation and debate. Rankings shouldn’t start until after Week 3 at the earliest.

I don’t disagree Southern, but all 3 of these teams have shown up to play on the big stage when it mattered. PSU has squandered some big opportunities against OSU in 2017 and 2018 otherwise they would be in that group.

@lionbacker99  Yup , but I would say week 5. At least by then we're starting to get a feel for who the best teams in each conference are.

Definitely agree on this one! If it wasn't for the coaching choke jobs in those games PSU would be the team consistently ranked top 5 today , not OSU.

Plenty of blame to go around in those losses. In the 2018 game, PSU’s 5 star RB fumbled with PSU driving and enjoying a 13-0 lead just before halftime. OSU scored just before the half. On top of that, PSU’s OL couldn’t block a stunting DL to save their life. As I said, plenty of blame to go around.

That's something we often forget.  There is always plenty of blame to go around when you lose as is true of plenty of praise to go around when you win.  That's why football is called a team sport.

Looks like some of the B10 coaches aren't giving love to Penn State and Franklin as well.

@lakerie Guess it's evened up then, 'cause we anonymously don't speak well of many other B1G coaches either.

Guessing that coaches of doormat teams get much better anonymous love.  Why not try to create strife within a competitive program?

Maybe 'no love' can be interpreted as respect.

@underlion  Georgia, Ohio st, Alabama and Clemson lost their QB’s and still ranked at the top. No love means no respect.

I’m feeling pretty confident about this year. Clifford and Brent Pry need to pick their game up and we’ll win the big 10 it’s that simple to me, all the other things on the team are good if not great. I look for these 2 guys to be doing a lot of smiling on the sidelines this year they know it’s in their hands to get it done and I believe they will.

Guess we'll see once the games (on the field) start. Anonymity makes for great bulletin board reading and wonderful click bait due to the size of the PSU faithful.
