Oh please, this is like giving San Francisco "credit" for drafting Brock Purdy. Brady was there, thry took him. Sometimes you just get lucky. Brady was a 6th round draft pick, everyone passed him over for 6th rounds including the patriots.I also give credit to Bill Belichick for drafting Tom Brady and having him as a backup quarterback. He drafted him to help win football games so he had to see something in Brady he liked or he wouldn’t have drafted him and he was the backup. I’m pretty sure Bill Belichick coaching staff groomed Tom Brady into being a great QB. I was a great match between Bill Belichick and Tom Brady just like all the other great coaches had their great QB’s Bill Belichick just done it better. There was a few years the NE defense helped win the SB as well.
Here is the difference... no one here is trying to sell Jj, Noll, or Walsh as the god of coaching or some genius without equal as you are doing with Belechik.Belichick has been coaching over 4 decades and his time has passed but the difference is he was winning Super Bowls as an assistant coach or Head coach for 4 freaking decades man something ain’t nobody done. How many SB did JJ win without Troy Aikman? Chuck Noll without Terry Bradshaw? Bill Walsh with Joe Montana? Bill Parcells without Belichick as DC? None unless I missed something. Belichick had a great run but his time has passed, it happens to all the great coaches.
Funny thing is, yeah... as head coach Jimmy Johnson won national titles in college didn't he? Pretty sure Bill Walsh turned trash Stanford into a great team during his time there too. Something Belechik has never done as head cosch at any level, proven he can win without Brady.
In the end, bringing up these other coaches is weak sauce, because we aren't claiming they are god's gift to coaching. You are just on some crusade to make us believe that a guy who's record is god awful in 10 years of Head Coaching without Brady is the genius of all geniuses when it comes to football. None of us think he is the GOAT.

His track record as an assistant coach can’t be ignored especially with the 2 SB rings and he’s been part of 4 or 5 teams losing the SB. I’m just looking at everything.

Then you came up with some BS argument that because you think Michigan is better than TCU it was a choke... but because you think LSU and Ohio State were "better" than Clemson they weren't chokes. I also might add... Clemson was FAVORED and RANKED HIGHER than Ohio State the year they got smoked. So again, it's just subjective BS.

I thought we talking about playoffs not regular bowl games. Clemson won 2 NC against Alabama and Florida St beat Auburn. Clemson did drop 2 NC games but imo playing 500 in NC games ain’t to bad especially when they had to beat Alabama. Ohio St won 1 against Oregon and Michigan got curbed stomped by Georgia and had a bad loss against TCU. The big 10 champs lost to TCU I’m sorry Roam, most people would think that’s a huge upset considering TCU didn’t even win the big 12. I think we both know Ohio St recruits better than Clemson. Clemson has played in the NC game 4 time brother and beat Ohio St to get there one game. The big 10, PAC and Big 12 hasn’t done a good job in the playoffs that’s just my opinion.

@the-funeral-director Ralph Friedgen and George O’Leary are 2 of my favorite coaches they take a backseat to anybody. Bobby Ross had both coaches on his staff when Ga Tech won the NC in 1990. I believe These dudes also won the ACC at Maryland back in the early 80’s. O’Leary took the team back over in 94 and brought Ralph back in as OC and they shared an ACC title with Florida State in 98 if I remember correctly. I miss them dudes FD (crying). I also believe they all went to the chargers and went to the SB.

LSU hadn't won the SEC for over 10 years, and Jerry Dinardo went 4-7 and 3-8 before Saban took over. So you think taking over a team that won 7 games in 2 years is inheriting success????? LSU was an afterthought in the SEC when Saban arrived.

Oklahoma, ND, Ohio St and Michigan have not and that’s the facts! Big 10 put 2 teams in last year and both teams got beat and Michigan had the easiest game of all the playoff games since I can remember and they still lost. Georgia 65 TCU 7…Michigan choked ain’t no fudging way they should’ve lost that game no matter how you try and spin it. Ohio St recruiting is top tier and they’ve had HOF coaches and they still struggle in the playoffs. That’s what I see and I don’t believe I’m the only one that feels this way.
There aren’t too many programs that recruit at the level Ohio State does. In fact, you can count them on one hand. The Buckeyes bring in a slew of talent that competes for conference championships and national titles on almost an annual basis. Recruiting is the backbone of any big-time college football program, and the Buckeyes have done it better than most.

You've mentioned how Alabama beat Kansas State... You haven't mentioned how Alabama BARELY beat Texas, and TCU beat Texas. So why is it that games where TCU beat teams worse than those you say are good are given no credit?

Alabama won the NC without winning their conference, I dont see you saying Georgia choked because they lost.
