This is what I’m talking about and Paul Finebaum is right.

But, as ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum noted on SportsCenter on Sunday morning, the Tigers will also be playing for a whole lot more, provided they win their 2 remaining regular-season games.

Finebaum said that should LSU win out and beat Georgia in Atlanta, there’s no way the College Football Playoff committee could leave Brian Kelly’s squad outside the top 4

I know he’s a SEC homer but he’s telling you what the CFP committee would’ve done.  I just ran up on this so don’t tell me we were left out because of 2 losses.  We were talking about this the other day is the reason I put this here.

@roaminglion  Roam, Clemson were ACC champions they earned their way in. TCU didn’t win the big 12 they were just put in to share the money. Georgia 65 TCU 7 and Kirby let off the gas during the 3rd quarter. Clemson 31 Ohio State 0 another team that was just put there. At least when the SEC sends a team to the playoffs without winning the conference they can still step up and win the NC. It’s a fraud system and it’s never been about the 4 best teams! I haven’t complained one time about Oklahoma and Oregon because they were conference champions.

1. Yes or no: Did you say "you dont see the ACC Champ choking"

2. Yes or no: Did the ACC Champ get smoked in their last 2 CFP apperances?

Thanks

I didnt leave it out, I never said Alabama never got smoked. I never claimed that people dont see them choking like you claimed for the ACC Champion.

So what exactly did I leave them out of?

@been-there-ii  All dynasties come to an end. It happened to Tom Landry, Chuck Noll, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcel and I’m sure I’m probably missing a few but the difference is Belichick did this

As a coach
As an executive
  • PFWA Executive of the Year (2021)
NFL records
  • Most Super Bowl wins: 8
  • Most Super Bowl wins as a head coach: 6
  • Most Super Bowl appearances: 12
  • Most Super Bowl appearances as a head coach: 9
  • Most playoff wins as a head coach: 31
  • Most playoff appearances as a head coach: 19 (tied)
  • Most divisional championships as a head coach: 17
Head coaching record
Regular season: 299–156 (.657)
Postseason: 31–13 (.705)
Career: 330–169 (.661)

FFS would you stop claiming Bill Belechik has won 8 Super Bowls? I've told you this before, he has won 6 as head coach. Not 8... 6.

Absolutly no one ever gives credit to an assistant coach for winning super bowls. Stop giving him credit for Bill Parcells's titles. And dont give me any baloney about how good a DC he was either.

Half of his staff in NE would equal his SB titles if we gave them credit for it. Stop it.

I am wondering why his genius wasnt apparent before Brady, wasnt apparent the year Brady was injured, and isnt apparent after Brady left.

So it isnt just a dynasty declining... The one year Brady was injured: Missed the playoffs. Before Brady? Terrible. 1 playoff win. After Brady? Bad. 0 playoff wins

So before, during, and after he's sucked without Brady. 10 years of data of hime being an HC without Brady... all bad.

Get off your high horse

All you just said was this: "Conference champions matters for everyone except the SEC."

@roaminglion  When Clemson lost they lost to better teams so imo that’s not choking. Choking is what michigan did in the playoffs last year. When Ohio St beat Clemson they were just a better team. Ohio St does lay eggs because imo with the players they have they should be up there with Alabama winning more NC games.

You know I’m only for conference champions getting in with only 4 teams. You want in the playoffs, win your conference championship. With 12 teams I’m just for taking the top 12 regardless of conference because I know the best teams are usually in the top  8. Just my opinion though

The reason I say this is because the conference champs of the power 5 are usually in the top 12 but if they ain’t, it’s their own fault.

@roaminglion  I got that off the NFL website. I didn’t write that. The dude has 8 rings 6 as a HC and 2 as an assistant coach unless you don’t believe he didn’t help win the SB’s with the Giants. Belichicks defense is why the Giants won their 2 SB’s. I know, he wouldn’t have ever won a SB as a DC if he didn’t have LT lol I’m not on a high horse, I’m a freaking Falcons fan. Belichick hired the assistant coaches just like he drafted Tom Brady for gods sake

By this logic there's a heck of a lot of coaches out there who have won 5, 6, or more Super Bowls

"When Clemson lost they lost to better teams"

Oh okay, I get it now. In a nutshell:

When teams you like lose, it's because they lost to "better teams". When a team you don't like loses, it's because they suck.

Makes sense, with logic like that you can pat yourself on the back for never being wrong. "Well Michigan was the better team and SHOULD HAVE won..  so TCU still sucks like I said!"

Why even play the games... SMH FFS

@southern-psu-fan  Was born in LA, so NFC, I'm a Rams fan. AFC, Buffalo is a couple hrs west of here on I 90. Takes me 4 hrs to get to Happy Valley. Whereas, I try to watch every PSU game ,one way or another, I may watch one or two pro games a season. I do watch a few playoff games. Haven't been to a pro game in probably 30 yrs.

Just think it's entertaining when folks say Bellyacher is all that AND a bag of chips. His chips have gotten stale.

Didn’t Bellicheat get fired when he was in Cleveland ?From 1991 until 1995, Belichick was the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. During his tenure in Cleveland, he compiled a 36–44 record, leading the team to the playoffs in 1994, his only winning year with the team. It’s undeniable that his success in NE revolved around a QB named Tom Brady. He had a losing record in NE before Brady became the starter and has a losing record in the games since Brady departed including a record of 1-4 in 2023.

Bellicheat ain’t chit without Tom Brady, it’s only a matter of time until he is forced out or fired.

Also remeber this... 1 year before Brady, Belechik and the Patriots missed the playoffs. The year Brady was injured, they missed the playoffs. The year after he left... thry missed the playoffs.

This will be the 6th year Belechick has coached the Patriots without Brady playing, and barring a miracle he will miss the playoffs again. 6 seasons and hasnt won a single playoff game. The only time he made the playoffs, they got drilled 47-17.

With Brady? Only missed the playoffs 1 time in his 2nd season. That's it. To not even acknowldge the obvious reliance on Brady is insane. Especially when Brady won another damn Super Bowl the year after he left!

@roaminglion  I could care less about Clemson and I hope they lose this week if they play. The only time I pull for Clemson is if they are playing Ohio State, Georgia or Michigan but the fact is Clemson doesn’t recruit as good as Alabama or Ohio St yet they win their fair share of big games against these 2 teams. Had Clemson lost to a lower tier team like TCU i would’ve hammered them too but it’s big 10 team losing that game which is absolutely unacceptable in the playoffs.

Belichick has been coaching over 4 decades and his time has passed but the difference is he was winning Super Bowls as an assistant coach or Head coach for 4 freaking decades man something ain’t nobody done. How many SB did JJ win without Troy Aikman? Chuck Noll without Terry Bradshaw? Bill Walsh with Joe Montana? Bill Parcells without Belichick as DC? None unless I missed something. Belichick had a great run but his time has passed, it happens to all the great coaches.

I also give credit to Bill Belichick for drafting Tom Brady and having him as a backup quarterback. He drafted him to help win football games so he had to see something in Brady he liked or he wouldn’t have drafted him and he was the backup. I’m pretty sure Bill Belichick coaching staff groomed Tom Brady into being a great QB. I was a great match between Bill Belichick and Tom Brady just like all the other great coaches had their great QB’s Bill Belichick just done it better. There was a few years the NE defense helped win the SB as well.
