Looking back, it appears the decision to increase and extend Franklin's contract in 2021 was a blatant act of maladministration.  

 

Franklin used the possibility of his departure to USC or LSU as leverage. The contract extension was a huge win for Franklin but appears to have left the university exposed to the risk of poor performance.  To minimize the risk, the university could have extended his contract while placing limits on the cost of dismissal.

Back when the extension was given I thought it  was a way for the former AD to give her detractors the middle finger on her way out. She was aligned with the group of alumni/boosters that hate and despise the football program.

@psujoe I’m not saying you’re wrong remoh but she sure did look happy at the games when I seen her on TV. Did she decide his contract? I don’t know how that works I was just under the impression that more people had their hands it than just the AD? Thanks

 

when UGA fired Vince Dooley they fired him because he wouldn’t fire Jim Donan if I remember correctly.
