The main plant on Chocolate Ave was torn down years ago and when it was open the smell of chocolate would drift through town and Hersheypark but as 81 said it was weather dependent and would always be stronger when it was going to rain. They built a plant just outside of town on West Chocolate Ave and Reese’s is out that way too but the sweet smells rarely make it into town or the park.
Tourists used to ask where they could buy that chocolate in a can spray because they thought the smell was artificially being pumped in.
When I go to Hershey for the fall car show you can smell the chocolate come through.
@jimmypsuelectriciangrad Inside the brewery was a shithole too. Was there for a Master Brewers Association meeting many years ago, the sanitation was appalling. You'd think if you were hosting an event such as that, you'd have made an effort to clean the place up a little....or maybe they did? I'm pretty sure most breweries are that way now, but I've seen that mess 1st hand and it made an impression. I steer clear of Yuengling.
You weren't the first one I've heard similar stories. I'm a firm believer of cleanliness. That goes for everything. First impressions are the best impressions.
